You surely remember the scene in Bull Durham where Crash Davis instructed Nuke LaLoosh on his cliches. Nuke objected, because they sounded so stupid and boring. "That's the point."

Cornell will be graduating half their EIWA team: Arujau, Baker, Foca, Cardenas and Fernandes (with Lowe and C. Yap to boot).
Pretty sure that Foca returns. Simon Ruiz is probably their best incoming greyshirt.

Bill Chilvers and Ed King won in 1935. They had two a few times in the 4-team days early in conference history.

Re: Penn

They are not very nice, about anything and bad Karma invites bad Karma. Arrogance doesn't have much of a place in this sport. You always have to prove iy on the mat. Agree with that George - incidentally I ended up seated right behind Lucas Revano's parents and sister during session #2 (they rushed...

Once, in 1979. Ed Eichelberger also pinned four, in 1955. It hasn't happened often.

Re: EIWAs day two

The key to the team finish was cu placing 9 guys to our 8. For some time now it hasn't been possible to win EIWAs with an 8-man team. Those days are over. I think 2016 was the time that we scored 160 and took second. I didn't think it was possible, practically speaking, to score that many points an...

Re: It sure does feel like we won!

We’ve talked about the excitement of Crookham’s finals match but Griffin’s 3/4th place match was a real barnburner also. Good to see Griffin with some upper body takedowns in that match in addition to his usual stellar ground game. Nobody chose bottom against Griffin, but in the consolation semifin...

Bonus Records

Lehigh scored 35.0 team points, the most the team has ever rung up. The previous record was 32.5, set in 2016 in our 160.0 point second-place effort. Kelvin Griffin now owns the Lehigh record for most bonus points in an EIWA tournament, 8.0. The previous record was 7.0, shared by Rick Hepp, Seth Cia...
