Two wrestlers whose careers overlapped, who covered all ten weights (tho' Newbern skipped over 190).

Re: Rylan Rogers

I don't know if we want him or not. He beat a guy named Munger, twice. 17-8 career at Michigan, with four losses up at 197 in duals against Top 30 opponents: Luke Surber, Gavin Hoffman, John Poznanski, Luke Geog. He'll be a r/s sophomore, three seasons of eligibility remaining. Michigan bio: Freshma...

Re: Columbia Head Coach Opening

Anybody remember George coming into the freshman dorms with boxes of cheesesteaks and hoagies and calling out from the end of the hall "Hoagie Man"? That was my introduction to the cheesesteak and I thought I had landed in heaven. Year? Like Richards 3A in 1971-72 calling out "Hoagie...

Re: Transfer portal

Do you know that Herceg isn't returning? Herceg was recognized as departing at our final home dual. Very rarely someone decides to return anyway, but figure it's 95% that he's retiring: https://lehighsports.com/news/2024/2/17/wrestling-mountain-hawks-celebrate-seniors-and-alumni-with-31-6-triumph-o...

Re: Over-Coaching?

Tanelli was definitely the leader of the exit from EIWA & Ayres strongly endorsed it. That is a confirmed fact. Penn coach also gone. So perhaps Gray from Cornell could lead the charge to revisit this decision? My understanding is that Cornell fans not happy about leaving? Valenti doesn't take ...

Re: Penn

Isn't this kind of an odd move? It's great that Valenti will be staying at Penn and the move provides continuity, but he hasn't coached since 2015 -- been involved in athletics administration since then.

Re: 2025 EIWAs

Assigning pigtails randomly on the other hand will have bigger probability on impacting team results if one team is randomly assigned a disproportionate share of additional bouts. That's exactly the issue at hand. Before we jumped to 16/17 we had a formula we used to see how out of whack things wer...

With all due respect to jda …… Beard’s knee wasn’t an issue while he was racking up TFs to lead the nation since the original strain. It’s obvious it worsened to the point he had very limited mobility. Nothing to due with seeding. Top 12 all capable. Let’s not make excuses for a warrior like Michae...

Re: NCAA Championships Day 2 Session 3

Taylor is an underdog, but Schulz is not looking great and has shown himself to be beatable. Just goes to show how difficult this tournament is. We used to note how well we were going to do, until the brackets came out. Taylor's a perfect example. If someone had told us in October that he'd be the ...
