Re: Fresno State Drops Wrestling

Just sad because coach Steiner had them headed in the right direction. California state school is a potential juggernaut with the right backing.

Re: Fresno State Drops Wrestling

Michigan State is also on the radar for CA kids. As previously posted CA is an extremely fertile recruiting state. It becomes academic (no pun intended) trying to get kids all the way east unless it's for an Ivy or Service Academy....especially with so many stopping off places along the way that are...

Re: Bloom-Haven-Field

Kevin Dresser signed a 6-yr deal with Iowa St around age 57. Va Tech isn't Navy. Perhaps if LHU opened up Kolat might consider but a job at Navy is hard to leave for somewhere else. >>>>>>> I was not suggesting Kolat. He's not going anywhere with the retirement he has ahead of him. The reference wa...

Re: Bloom-Haven-Field

Tim Flynn did a terrific job at Edinboro. I remember seeing him wrestle in the MD state tournament in the early '80-s for Annapolis HS. Followed him ever since. High quality guy. That said, West Virginia *should be* a much better job. Better resources, Power 5 conference so can offer up to $6,000 st...

Re: Greg Strobel Passes

Not sure about anyone else, but I've found myself thinking about Greg alot the past few days. Perhaps his age (68) -- we were 1 year apart -- perhaps never having anything but a positive experience with him -- perhaps the manner in which he conducted himself and how well he represented Lehigh ..... ...

Re: Greg Strobel Passes

Really shocking news....Greg was a giant for Lehigh. What he did for our program can not be over-stated. And he did it with class. Even the worst calls didn't prevent him from showing restraint and respect for the officials. He made all Lehigh alums proud to be fans. RIP my friend.

Yianni has really filled-out. Looked to me that he had the strength advantage.

FLO Event

Flo Wrestling put on a really good show this past Friday night. Their production is op-notch. My thoughts are mixed. Still not sold on some of the nit picky rules of 'going on he clock' what constitutes stepping OOB and fairly subjective looking calls such as getting both knees down for a TD even wi...
