Re: Bill Carmody

Odd time of year for this. Hopefully not health related. I'm not a huge fan of his coaching. He did a decent job following Petey at Princeton. Not so much at Northwestern and Holy Cross.

On second thought regarding The Cross, maybe I'm just still bitter about 2015-2016.

Re: Trivia in a way

I'm from the 1968 - 1972 era. No one that I know of in basketball in those years. However we had a great nationally ranked wrestler and a great classmate in Herbie Campbell. He still lives in the Lehigh Valley by the way.

Re: Starting line-up 2019-2020

Hopefully Marquis is back and ready to go. I sense a bit of uncertainty in his corner after last year.

Starting line-up 2019-2020

With the collegiate sports dead period upon us, its time to stir the pot a bit..........

Will we start 2 or 3 freshmen next year???
How about:

PG: Jake Betlow

SG: Jordan Cohen

SF: Evan Taylor or Jakob Alamundun

PF: Jeameril Wilson

C: James Karnik

It could happen. Thoughts?

Re: CJ - unreal

Thank you for mentioning DQ. I should have. Because of his size he never received this kind of national attention. Plus the NBA was a whole different kind of game then. You can certainly make an argument for Queenan. Mike Polaha was no slouch either. Fran McCaffery has commented that Mike was a legi...

Re: CJ - unreal

I was in school 1968 - 1972. Some oldsters might argue for Mike Caruso or John Hill. I'm an oldster here to tell you those oldsters would be wrong. Mike & John were great. C.J. has reached even greater height in his sport. Disclaimer: I don't know much about pre-1950, so let's say he's the best in t...

In the "for what it's worth" department, Clark Slajchert could be a great get. Older brothers at UC Santa Barbra and Dartmouth. Big time under recruited scoring point guard. January California newspaper write-up: https://www.dailynews.com/2019/01/16/roundup-clark-slajchert-hits-game-winner-to-lift-o...

41 for 3 in 4OT......

You'll have to read the game stories to appreciate CJ's performance in this all-time NBA playoff classic that ended well past my bed time last night. Only the second 4OT game in playoff history (1953 the other I believe). A remarkable talent who for years worked his tail off to be this good. It was ...

Re: Merrimack

The idea of playing a lower division team to start a season, after several not so good years takes me back to the fall of 1967. Fred Dunlap had won one game in his first two years at Lehigh. 0-9 in 1966, 1-8 in 1965. Ithaca College was scheduled for the opening game of '67. That Saturday I was a hig...
