Re: Game 16/5 - American

Forecast keeps shifting because meteorologists can't nail down where the freeze line will set within the "I-95 Corridor". Could be a foot. Could be 4 inches. Either way, the 'threat' will keep the crowd down which is a shame. It will definitely keep down the Bucknell crowd. Fan buses already cancel...

Pretty sure Reed's dad (Neal) played for the B&W many moons ago. I think he was a Naval Academy transfer, if my memory serves.

That is correct on all counts. And Reed’s uncle, Keith Fenton, played for Bucknell in that era as well.

Re: Game 13/2 - Loyola

Is scholarship or non-scholarship status public information? Often it is, based on the school's press releases. Also you can often tell based on tweets and articles when the player commits. I know when he committed that the general feeling on this site seemed to be that he was a walk-on, but I don'...

Re: Game 13/2 - Loyola

3. With less than a minute to play, Joe Foley (Scholarship/Freshman) brings the ball up and spots Sophomore/Walk-on Shawn Acoveno in the key for an easy bucket to close out the game. Is Foley a scholarship player? I always thought he was a walk-on, and that is what Verbal Commits lists him as.

Re: Lehigh 56 Navy 38

Is there a dominant team in PL race? Doesnt seem so yet. Based on play to date - even with a bad loss to Boston today - Bucknell still would have to be viewed as the favorite. They went 9-3 against a very tough OOC schedule, losing only to two ranked teams plus a strong midmajor. Only AU and Buckne...

Re: Lehigh Recruiting Class

Thanks for sharing. Seems like a decent set of rankings. As far as I can tell, the only PL recruit in their top 500 players nationally is Jake Van der Heijden at 422 headed to Bucknell. Bucknell recruit PF Malachi Rhodes, who plays for one of the top HS programs in Georgia, was ranked #259 in these...

Re: Game 13/2 - Loyola

may be more of a case of who you played and how adept they were at shooting 3's Might be a little of that - but for his sample, he had 40 teams who each played a total of 35+ games with perhaps 25 3-point attempts per game. Maybe 35,000 attempts. Pretty big sample size to have one group suddenly to...

Re: Game 13/2 - Loyola

The Greyhounds of Loyola have a weakness that fits our strength, i.e., defending the “3.” Only 14 teams across America give up a greater percentage of their opponents’ 3-ball attempts than LOM. Pomeroy made an interesting study a few years ago on teams defending the three. Interestingly he found th...

Re: Lehigh Recruiting Class

Colgate has not signed anyone yet. Langel seems to concentrate a lot more on finding transfers than on incoming players. He has landed a few good HS players - almost all from prep schools - but most of his better players transferred in.

Re: Little This..Little That and a Question

We had another team make the NCAA, (about 1995-2000?) I assume they might have someone under consideration for all time, if not retired jersey No, no championships during that period. The next one after Polaha/Queenan was 2004 - and that team had no-one whose jersey is likely to be retired. Austen ...
