Re: John Hughes resigns as associate head coach

Mountain Hawk clearly has never heard of need based aid to fill out a team to supplement the 9.9 scholarships. Right now we have too many kids on the roster that don’t get a chance to ever wrestle in Grace Hall in a dual meet. Most of those are need based aid guys sitting behind 2-3 others. yeah, n...

Not really. The lack of diversification in Cornell's staff is recent. It remains to be seen whether it works out over time or not.
Yeah we'll have to see how glaring his mistakes are as they hoist their first NCAA trophy over their heads sometime in 2021 or 2022.

For that reason I've wondered if Cornell hasn't made a mistake with a head coach nearing 30 years on the job and three of his graduates as his assistants.
very nice tongue-in-cheek humor.....hopefully

Re: Princeton Dual

There's not much you can do about aggression really, as athletes can be territorial. Some things you could do to minimize it are: Neuter the athlete, particularly males, to reduce aggression caused by testosterone; apparently LU has done that successfully. Pretty tough battling PU squad and tough t...

Re: Week-End Salvo

the surprising thing to me wasn't Weiler gassing, we've seen that before......the surprising thing is how fast he gassed out, he looked shot at the end of the first period, by 30 seconds into the 2nd he was basically done....... hi energy stuff the whole time in period 1. 4x to the well was poor st...

Re: John Hughes resigns as associate head coach

I disagree with Mountain Hawk as one would expect. In wrestling with 9.9 scholarships you don’t spread those around if you want to be top 10 but rather use 2 per year to overcome any disparity for the very best wrestler we can attract with a full ride. You'd have 15 guys in the room, 2 forfeits, an...

Re: John Hughes resigns as associate head coach

mookie, MH generally enjoys your posts. Want to make you aware of what a real wall we are up against trying to get into the top 10. The problem is really about the cost of a private university vs a public. These days its about a 20-30k difference for an out of state resident and 30-45k difference fo...

Re: Princeton Dual

Quincy Monday is exactly the medicine that Humphreys needs. Anyone who saw that match at the Open knows that Quincy has been coached up hard on wrestling Josh on his feet. That strategy worked well for him in the win, and it forced Josh to continue to develop both his neutral offense and his neutral...
