Re: No way to spin it
There is always the Kool-Aide option or Nuclear option and just end humanity. Of course, the sane will move on, the insane will put on the 3rd mask. Ask any material science engineer to describe how a 5 micron virus passes through a mask woven with 15-25 micron gaps. On we go. 0-2 Ask any virologis...

Re: Pre-allocated spots
It has everything to do with my point, unless you choose to decide it doesnt.... theyve beaten Cornell and theyve lost to Cornell, what comes around goes around and so on.... your interpretation of my point is one way to look at it.... not my point though... I’m a big Yianni fan, like Vitali also.....

Re: Pre-allocated spots
How many times did Pat Santoro, Zach Rey, Darian Cruz and Brad Dillon lose to a Cornell wrestler on the mat? Cornell had a nice run as a team, may at some point again, whatever, love the competition and love their attempt at justification for the last 4 years. That has nothing to do with your previ...

Re: Pre-allocated spots
I should add that the symmetry issue matters because of the cross-bracketing. The normal procedure is that in the first/pig-tail round you drop straight down. Then in the next round (NCAAs the rd of 32) you do a complete flip-flop. Therefore, any pig-tails with symmetry will be cross-bracketed with ...

Re: Pre-allocated spots
I thought I remembered a couple 9-1 guys, did not find any. in 2000, Max Odom, Harvard's 149 pounder won a pigtail, lost to the eventual champ, won a pigtail consolation, the defeated a Penn Wrestler, then lost to a Penn Wrestler (Henson, who was still at Nebraska). If he had kept winning he would ...

Re: Pre-allocated spots
I thought you resolved it. But maybe I never noticed it again, because those 9-1 occurrences are pretty rare. But I will take a look to see if it could have happened again. The way Pa worked the first year or two. The pigtail winner always had 3 bouts in the first session, unless he upset the regio...

Re: Pre-allocated spots
With 10 man brackets, even with only 9 or 8 , the only top 6 guys who could have fewer than 4 bouts in the tournament are the finalists, assuming a fft, medical or otherwise counts as a bout. But it's also possible for a 3rd or 5th placer to wrestle six in one day. We had to jiggle the consolations...
