COMMIT #25. Damon Stewart OL
Re: COMMIT #25. Damon Stewart OL
good size but did not look all that agile, played both ways though, PG year so should have a mature body, can't have enough big bodies, glad to have him
Re: COMMIT #25. Damon Stewart OL
Just finished with videos. A bit raw. Very fast for a big fella. Athletic but does need work on footwork. From video wouldnt mind seeing him at DT.
He is a PG at Suffield. He was a 2x A-S lineman at Newington HS in Ct.

Re: COMMIT #25. Damon Stewart OL
I thought he looked better as a DT also, but what do I know
Re: COMMIT #25. Damon Stewart OL
75 tackles with 4 sacks as a senior. Newington is a class L school( Small) Watched a bunch of that video. Not a high level of competition. But, with his speed , he could develop into an excellent OG.
Anyway, a nice Friday surprise.

Re: COMMIT #25. Damon Stewart OL
He held an offer from Army.
This league has a substantially higher level of competition than his HS.

Re: COMMIT #25. Damon Stewart OL
I know Lehigh has him listed as an OL but I wonder if he may eventually find his way to the other side of the ball. Rivals has him listed as a DT. He certainly has the size to play that position and it may be Lehigh's greatest need right now in terms of depth.
I met Coach Zarkoskie yesterday. He's a really nice guy. If I run across him on Sunday, I may pose the question.

Re: COMMIT #25. Damon Stewart OL
Thanks TMH. He was A-S at OL but from all the video I watched from both schools he has the tools to go at DT eventually. Prep competition in Ct pretty high. Numbers of P5,FBS and FCS commits.
Re: COMMIT #25. Damon Stewart OL
held an Army offer and 2 time A-S, says a lot, glad to have him with us
Re: COMMIT #25. Damon Stewart OL
A move to defense is likely his fastest way to the playing field and a starting position.
He can do time grooming as an OT for two years or he can compete day one for playing time on D-line.
