Spring Practice

Back-to-back PL champs 2016 and 2017.... but need to get back to relevance in the national FCS scene.

Some actual good news. Morrow was accepted into LU grad school. Great for him and truthfully even better for us.

Was there any doubt???

Grad admission is not a slam dunk. Very competitive. His proposed grad program was approved a while ago. It took a rather long time for his Prof to submit the necessary recommendation letter.

How does anyone have an edge when all three basically have no playing time? For sure the senior must know the offense better so in that sense I might agree, but that is what spring is for...get those young guys up to speed. If you don't give comparable reps and experience, you can't determine who should take the reins. The only edge should go to returning starters...and even that should be minimal. Look at any FBS spring camp in the country.

Spring practice is indeed for that. Not so much tho this year with new HC and staff.. More a getting to know you time. All 3 QBs got reps. All 3 did well. Monaco does have an edge perhaps not a huge one but an edhe nonetheless. Dont forget he took the reps at 2 all year. 3 and 4 get very few reps during the year. Spend more time working scout teams in practice.
In any event the only real question is whether Monaco is good enuf to run the O effectively this year.
The scrimage part tomorrow may answer questions at least for now.

The scrimmage will simply show who has been most prepared for it. Sheesh... let's use some common sense. The guy with 3x the reps better look better or its a clear sign of trouble. I just want to see a program that gets back to what made Lehigh successful....opportunity and competition at every position. There is ZERO debate as to who has more reps....the question is who has more talent....at every single position.

Your saying Monaco would get beat out by Shoup if he had the reps. How do you know? If your just bitching about the system, then I got it. No need to keep repeating it. If Monaco is our QB then lets root for him to succeed rather than continuing to complain that 2 and 3 didnt get a fair shot.
Lets see how the team look tomorrow. Then start the summer to worry and bitch. :D

That is exactly what I am saying....it is a very real possibility. And yes, we can never really know under this system. I am not rooting for or against any of the kids, a simple observation as a coach.
