Spring Practice

Back-to-back PL champs 2016 and 2017.... but need to get back to relevance in the national FCS scene.

Spring Practice

Post by RichH » Thu Mar 14, 2019 9:49 am

A week until practice starts. :D
Coaches . Still at least one open spot. My speculation.
Brisson. OC
Zarkoskie. OL
Cuevas. TE
Dimichele. RB

Kashurba. DC
Noonan. LB/RG
Borich. DL
Ward. LB
Reisig. DB

Dimichele could also be DB or WR. My guess.
Killing time at Radiologist office. :D

Did Don Roberts move into administration? I heard he was staying at LU in another capacity. A great guy and someone who the players really gravitated toward.

Should be a lot of optimism heading into spring practice. It feels like the program's overall trajectory is once again heading in the right direction. I think Gilmore immediately brought stability and confidence to a tough situation. No reason they shouldn't compete for the PL Title this year imo.

- What are the legitimate goals on defense? Is the personnel actually there for a drastic improvement? By drastic i mean going from the absolute worst to at least average.
- Who emerges at QB?
- The OL was always a strength under Coen (last year and '14 not with withstanding ;) ). I always thought Lehigh had some of the best OL's in FCS. Can it regain its form under this staff? There's a lot of pieces to work with. The key is finding the right combo.
- Will Brisson get the offense back on track? The WRs as a group are the best in the league imo. Allen is definitely going to produce at RB so long as he stays healthy. Can Brisson become an effective playcaller like Cecchini and Folmar? Hopefully the unit has more of an identity. Last year it seemed like there was a lot of poking and hoping....

That is what I was told. I am glad both he and Andy are being retained.

Not sure what to expect owl. We have starters and depth at most positions. Hopefully all the injured OL,DL and LB are back healthy.
D has experience. DL s/b getting back Kircher and Laurencelle and peraps Morrow. Coach K2 has a good mix of experience to build an adequate unit.

Hopefully throwing to the tight end and running backs will be incorporated into the offense this year. That should make our offense more diversified and less predictable. In years gone by, the tight end was a big part of Lehigh’s offense. Some of us still remember what a weapon Bill Schlegel was in the early 70’s.

Almost to the dawn of time :D .
Dont know what to expect. A healthy OL and a QB who can manage the O and get the ball to the playmakers , would be great.
