seems we are not shying away from competition for most of these recruits, Ivies, Academies, BCS

The offer lists are awfully similar. Hopefully we are not just following the crowd around and we are actually recruiting these players.

I'm not surprised that we are going after the same individuals. They are all looking for the same qualities in a student/athlete.The same is true of the student athlete looking for colleges. Every coach I talked to at Lehigh talks about receiving thousands of recruiting letters and videos to go through including golf. I'm sure those same letters and videos are sent to at least 100 coaches.

I just seems to me that the sheer volume of offers, visits etc seem to well surpass prior years but I have no data to back that up. Now to convert some of those to commits.

Very true. The numbers have risen dramatically over the years. Chatting with a coach a few years back about numbers that staff had to process. He laughed and said that before finishing a class staff went thru as many as a 1000 names. They would winnow starting list down to about 300 each year. Back then we didnt employ the shotgun approach. We offered perhaps 50 to 65 kids. The past 3 years has seen an escalation well beyond what was done by staffs. This year we are shotgunning for good or ill. I have close to 200 names on my list of visits, contacts offers etc. We are adding a couple of offers every day now. I may have to bring in an asst soon
I am going to change the way I am posting info. I will continue to track visits and prospects but I am only going to post offers. While I am no expert I will try to resurrect the spreadsheet once we get past this recruiting period.
