St. Francis game notes

Back-to-back PL champs 2016 and 2017.... but need to get back to relevance in the national FCS scene.

SFU doesnt return many starters at all. Reading their preview., most of the replacements are redshirts. Redshirts here. Redshirts there. :D A fact we will face in all of our OOC games. :x

I really wish the PL would allow for red shirts. Do you see the league changing their stance on it any time soon?

I wish I could. PL Presidents have never been proactive with sports much less football. Eventually, perhaps they will act. There are a number of measures available none of which will sully the PL academic luster. :(

Solid core of veterans. . A lot of frosh.
Reynolds an A-S OC in HS. Passarelli an A-S OG. Not usual to see frosh on OL. Evans must be dinged I guess.
O'Connor not really a TE in HS . More an HB/ WR.
Matt Solomon a track sprinter. A WO.
D now a 3-4.
Great to see Nace on 2 deep. A lot of frosh. Wow. 9 fr and so. Coach K did move O'Neil up to LB.
Spoke to Coach K at steak fry. Expect O'Neil to be all over the place. LB/S--I really see him as a rover the guy is so versatile.

Isn't it also a money issue. You are "buying" another year at $60K/year just in tuition.

Not really. Teams still limited to 60 schollies. Redshirt money still counts. The difference is that the 5th year money could go to a new recruit. The total amount of aid doesnt change. The initial hit is the transion. You have a shorter roster and some amount of schollie aid sitting out. If we ever get even a limited number of redshirts the roster cap will have to be addressed.

Nope.5th yr he still has his schollie just like current tth yrs. Example. Morrow and McCloskey are back for 5th. If they werent that money would have been available to TG for current frosh class.
He will have them for current revruit class.
