UC Davis game

Post by CHIP72 » Mon Sep 09, 2019 4:37 pm

The schedule doesn't get any easier for the Mountain Hawks, as they'll take a cross-country trip to northern California to play California-Davis, members of the Big Sky Conference. This game will be the Aggies' home opener. UC Davis is 1-1 on the young season, losing 27-13 at DI-A/FBS California (Berkeley) and edging San Diego 38-35 on the road this past Saturday.

The game, which will start at 10 PM ET, will be available for viewing via free stream at Pluto TV at the following link: https://pluto.tv/tv/uc-davis

Thanks for the internet information. Kickoff at 10 p.m. I surmise. Kids should be psyched to be making such a trip. Hope the added adrenaline helps focus as opposed to over-excite causing wasted nervous energy. I am looking forward to the team acquitting itself well and using this as springboard for the rest of the season.

23 of the 2 deep are fr or so. Clear TG going for next year onward. Necessary I guess but frustrating for cranky old farts like me. ;) :?

Forgot that I wrote this extensive recap of that classic 1977 game in this blog posting. Jim Sochor vs. John Whitehead.

For The First Time Since 1977, Lehigh Is Invited Back to UC Davis To Play a Football Game - The College Sports Journal

https://www.college-sports-journal.com/ ... ball-game/

The Lehigh Mountain Hawks (0-2) make a trip to Davis, California to take on the UC Davis Aggies (1-1). It’s a game that promises to be an interesting clash of East Coast vs. West Coast in UC Davis Health Stadium – a Big Sky vs. Patriot League matchup, which is a rarity during the regular season.

It is not the first time these two teams have met.

Back in 1977, the Lehigh Engineers and UC Davis Aggies met in the “Knute Rockne Bowl”, which was the official name of the Division II semifinals matchup. It was December 3rd, 1977, when Lehigh and UC Davis’ paths crossed due to some come-from-behind wins by Lehigh.

UCD is a beatable football team. Non-Scholly San Diego nearly handed them a loss. If nothing else Lehigh should be able to rack up some points vs this D. Slowing down the UCD offense is the greater challenge. This is a game where a couple turnovers and good special teams play could result in a W.

love the optimist, but we have yet to see a mistake free game and it will surely take that and some breaks, either way it is a great experience for the team and should help get them ready for PL play, this team has some talent although lacking depth, if they keep improving they can challenge for the PL title
