ANDY COEN FUNDRAISER INFORMATION

Post by News » Tue Jan 11, 2022 9:56 pm

This pinned post is where you can find all the information out there that refer to former head football coach Andy Coen - his GoFundMe and the upcoming fundraisers on Feb 18th, 2022.

Morning Call Article from Keith Groller: https://www.mcall.com/sports/mc-spt-leh ... story.html
Andy Coen’s condition (early onset Alzheimer's)has worsened and he has been placed in a memory care facility. Health insurance doesn’t cover the costs of that facility, so Coen’s former players, coaching colleagues and friends are rallying together.

At 5 p.m. Feb. 18 at the Wood Dining Room on Lehigh’s Mountaintop Campus, a special event is being held as a fundraiser for the Coen family. QB Nick Shafnisky will be one of the guest speakers. A silent auction with football memorabilia will be held.

“The cost of this facility is almost $90,000 a year, so we’re trying to do what we can to help him,” Shupp said. “It has really been hard for Andy and his family. We want to help him in any way we can.”

Quick update:

The GoFundMe is at $60,000 - a GREAT tribute to all those people out there that want to help a great man. But there's more to go. Memory Care is very expensive and very, very frequently is not covered by health insurance.

Some big-time CFB folks have offered there promotion and support as well:

Does anyone know if the silent auction will be online for those who can't be there in person ?

I don't think the event will be streamed online. However, you can donate to his cause on the official fundraiser website and also donate items for the auction as well:

As far as I am aware, this GoFundMe is still open and still available to contribute to the family if you so wish.
