Bucknell

Back-to-back PL champs 2016 and 2017.... but need to get back to relevance in the national FCS scene.

Bucknell

Notes are up. A good read but wait til game to see who starts and where.
The phrase "winnable games" has become more of a trigger than a positive possibility.
We have talent. We lack depth and more importantly the confidence to win. Learning how to win and expecting to win is the hardest lesson for coaches to instill in a team. The 1st year of this rebuild pas deux we hoped for that miracle turn around and winning season. Not yet but there are still games yet to be played
.. It may well be a one game season for us. We'll see.
For me,the 2 most crucial issues are team culture and recruiting. These will determine the success or lack thereof for this rebuild.

Team culture... Is that players wearing coats & ties to away games and getting neat-looking haircuts?

Hope you're right. Imagine Bucky fans also tired of waiting for a good team.
Ah well, just an old fogie's lack of patience. 3 to 5 years is the standard.. Hope Coach Cahill can expedite the rebuild.🤷‍♂️😁
A W at Bucknell a fine step towards the goal.

Who stated 3-5 years was the "standard"? I'm watching Lafayette at Holy Cross right now. Both were 2 year turnarounds under head coaches with proven experience.

I'm not holding Cahill to unreasonable "standards". Rather the thresholds others have set as a barometer. See what next year brings!

Lehigh 20-0

Mountain Hawks are dominating in all 3 phases. If it wasn't for some terrible mistakes inside the Bison 10 this game would be far worse....

Lehigh 20 Bucknell 3 8:26 4Q

The Mountain Hawks play has regressed as the game has gone on. The offense is simply not executing with any consistency.

Lehigh 27 Bucknell 18 Final

Nice for the struggling team to get a win but ongoing mistakes, lapses in effort/execution continue to handcuff this team. The penalties inside the 10 just can't happen this late in the year. This easily could have been a 4 TD win.

Meanwhile

Lafayette 38 Holy Cross 35 Final

Year two of the Troxell Era produces the Pards first winning season since 2009. They're also in the driver's seat for the league title! Troxell and his staff did a great job having his team prepared. They jumped on the Crusaders early then held on as Sluka (338 yards rushing) willed them to within an onside kickoff of a huge comeback win.

Nailed it owl. We left lots of points on the field. O was wildly inconsistent. Out of synch too often this far into the season. Inconsistency to be expected with this inexperienced O. Frustrating today.
Yoder a bright spot for us as was the D.
On to the bye week thankfully. Some time to work on unforced errors.
