Super! Humphrey showed a lot of promise this year as a frosh, and having someone of this caliber should be a great addition to the WR corps. We don't get too many we's with "elite" speed. Jamie the only one right now.

He’s apparently running track too at Lehigh! Shades of Derek Knott.

I think football coaches may be more willing to allow a player to run track (or shotput, or even swim, than allowing the to Wrestle or play lacrosse

Just for discussion but are we talking just indoor track where there is little to no overlap with football?

If the athlete can handle the academic load with everything else then the benefit of increasing speed, explosive power would offset the risk of injury to a great degree. Will football coaches allow spring track to interfere with spring drills, especially for a frosh/soph?

There have been a number of football players who also participated in track, baseball.and even lacrosse. Don't know how Coach will approach these situations. Do think compromises can be made so that he can do track and as much of Spring practice as can be fit into his schedule.

You are probably correct Rich.

Here is a wonderful article on Derek Knott if you didn't know his life story.

https://thebrownandwhite.com/2017/05/07 ... t-profile/

Apparently, he only did track later in his career since his football season ended early in both his sophomore and junior years.

I remember Jason Leo playing baseball perhaps all 4 years but as a punter/pitcher, it was a nice fit. Phil Stambaugh, and I think Rob Rohn played baseball their senior years after their careers were over. There was a football player that was an excellent jumper. I don't think that was Knott. I remember a football/lacrosse player a few years but I don't think either sport materialized much. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
