Great point!

"Lehigh plays smarter than you, Lehigh outworks you, Lehigh pushes you around, Lehigh beats you."

Years ago, I was always convinced this was the case.

The other teams always had the size, speed and better athletes.

But we had the brains and discipline on the field.

We had the best coaching staffs. Just look at them under Dunlap, Whitehead and Higgins.

Somehow it all worked with need-based aid only.

I agree with these thoughts. We actually have talent that is not being properly coached. We have potential All Americans on offense (QB & RB) and enough talent on defense to get the job done. As I've said in prior posts, the defensive coaching is your definition of insanity. Terrible stats and no changes, no answers. What has the coaching staff been telling the kids? Apparently not much. I would make a few changes and the results would be better than what you now see on the field. Guaranteed. If we had access to the game film, I would prove my point in any game in a matter of minutes.
I just dont think it is acceptable to trash kids in these posts....

It has very little to do with schemes. It's mostly toughness or lack of. Thud "tackling" in practice is a joke, all it's created is a bunch of softies who arm tackle and whiff more times than a girls powder puff team.

Ivy League has not allowed full contact in practice since 2016. Sorry, but this "thud" comment is simply wrong. It is the new normal in an effort to reduce head injuries. I do not comment much, but misinformation and archaic comments bring me to life.

The AD at LSU, where this occurred: Sterrett's predecessor at QB for LU: Joe Alleva.

Somehow Colgate, Georgetown and Bucknell have been fairly consistent and in Colgate's situation, excellent, on defense. .....Same kind of players? Same mentality? Same emotion??? Same coaching???

Was that full speed tackling? Holy crap. It was a 3 second impact with player inches away from each other. Conversations like this just make me wonder who on this board has ever put a helmet on their head! Come on....

By the way...Les Miles...where is he now? And last thing....have concussion protocols changed DRAMATICALLY in last three years.

Its common sense. Teams cannot hit in practice like they used to. Coaches have to find alternative methods to teach tackling. But Mookie....maybe Lehigh should do nut crackers or bull in the ring....that would be a solution to all of our tackling issues. Pure nonsense.

All you need to do is watch a few minutes of play and know this team is soft. Arm tackles and whiffs should put you on the bench. Stick your nose in the middle of a chest and quit being such a pussy.
