American Game #9

Young team returns in 2018-2019 with tons of promise. Can they get back to the NCAA Tournament?

On the scholarships, I believe a team in D1 is allowed 13. Lehigh usually carries 12. Jack Lieb counts as 1 so we have 11 on scholly who can play: 5 frosh, 2 sophs, 2 juniors, 2 seniors.

On last night, I thought the defense in the first half and early 2nd half was fine. Yes American missed some bunnies early, but for the most part they had few open looks. J. Wilson in particular really stepped up in my opinion, and we flew around pretty well. But I have never, never, ever seen us shoot the ball this poorly. Beyond belief bad. And mid to late 2nd half when we could not buy a basket, or a free throw (for gosh sake), they hit a couple 3's and we gave up the ghost.

I have no answers for this abysmal slump. But I'm still a fan and plan to be there Saturday. From here on out its time to gain additional experience and look to next year. A win or two would be nice as well.

T. R. I. E. D.

Spent
Gassed
Drained
Beat
Bushed
Fatigued

You pick the word. Three games in 6 days with trips to HC and AU. More than this young group of 8 could handle. Fully expect a rebound on Saturday.

See you at the game.

Shooting (and missing) seems to be contagious. Both Men's and Women's teams can barely hit the side of barn door right now.
