Re: Game 14 - Boston U.
how did terriers score 47 in the second half? well it wasn't lights out shooting against a bad D as you might think, but 12 turnovers and minus 7 rebound difference didn't help, likewise how did we score 45 in the first half, only 4 turnovers and plus 14 rebounds
we shot higher % both halves
we shot higher % both halves

Didn’t see game. Glad we got the win and a little help elsewhere. My concern is Bennett. I hope the injury isn’t serious. We can’t afford to lose anyonNe

Re: Game 14 - Boston U.
All in all, I think we played more than just a half of defense. I just went back and looked at the play by play. We had held BU to 61 points with 3 minutes left in the game. Doc than decided to go with “Offense/Defense” subs. This led to several turnovers on the press break because we didn’t have our normal guys on the floor, and the “defensive specialists” never actually got the stops they were on the floor to get. I’m fact they gave up EIGHTEEN POINTS and on top of that, in a crucial moment of the game, our “defensive lineup” completely left Petcash for a wide open 3 that was missed. If he makes it, we’re down one and we almost certainly implode and lose. I personally don’t get those subs, they break up a rythym and there isn’t a single person on this team that I’d call a defensive specialist. That easily could have been a disaster loss and it was completely unnecessary. Big time free throws from James bailed everyone out.
Re: Game 14 - Boston U.
have to disagree, I re-watched the last 3 minutes and saw 4 turnovers and 6 missed free throws and I believe the Petcash open 3 was against the 5 starters. subbing had nothing to do with those issuesMhawk37 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 17, 2019 11:34 am All in all, I think we played more than just a half of defense. on another note, Andree had 16 rebounds, very impressive stat

Great recaps, Guys.
What's left to be said? Maybe only ..........
How about the confidence/nerve we continue to show in the "3" ball! I could be wrong by a shot or two, but didn't we start the game 0-4 from deep. No problem, we finished the game hitting 10 of 22 from deep or 10 of our next 18. That's who we are.
Play of the game for me had to be Joe Foley stepping into to take a charge late in the game when BU was threatening to make a comeback. The kid is quick - may be the fastest on the court -and agile. Perhaps it's his soccer experience coming to light on the hardwood. Anyway, I'm a big fan and sense we're seeing the PG of the future. Hey, 35 minutes of playing time over the last three is a meaningful number coming down the stretch. Yeah, the turnovers are there, but give him time. Shows nerve of steel from the line where he's gone 5 of 8. No 3's to date, however. Something to watch.
James Karnick is a monster and gaining confidence with each game - especially on offense. Work, no doubt, needed on D as someone has already pointed out. But, I was holding my breath when he took those late FTs to help salt away the win. He's 5th best from the line of our 5 starters at .658.
Last thing and just for fun. Has anybody else noticed the height of Jeameril Wilson's free throws? They dive-bomb the net from what appears two feet above the rim. Keep it up, JW. You're connecting 78% of the time.

Re: Game 14 - Boston U.
I like Foley also and think he has great upside, wish he would shoot more often when he is open, needs to step up his confidence
Re: Game 14 - Boston U.
I first noticed the unusually high arc on a three he took early in the year. Very picturesque. And effective.Lehigh65 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 18, 2019 6:16 pm Great recaps, Guys.
