And down the stretch they come!
Last night's win by BU over HC had no impact on the race for the top spot or for that matter the team to finish in the top three in the final regular season standings. Tonight’s game between Bucky and CU certainly does, as do all the games to be contested tomorrow night. Here’s a look at the those still able to finish with 11 wins and earn one of the coveted top seeds in the upcoming playoffs which begin on Tuesday, March 5th when teams seeded 7th thru 10th get the show started.
Bucky: 1st @ 11-3
@ CU (1-0)
LC (1-0)
@ Navy (1-0)
AWP (1-0)
LU: 2nd @ 10-4
AWP (1-0)
HC (1-0)
@ AU (1-0)
@ LOM (1-0)
CU: 3rd @ 9-5
Bucky (0-1)
Navy (0-1)
HC (1-0)
@ LC (1-0)
AU: 4th @ 7-7
@ LC (0-1)
@ AWP (1-0)
LU (0-1)
@ HC (1-0)
AWP: 5th (7-7)
@ LU (0-1)
AU (0-1)
LOM (0-1)
@ Bucky (0-1)
As a Mountain Hawk fan, I’m torn. It’s not in my DNA to root for Bucky. But with a Bison “W” up at Colgate tonight (Tues), the Raiders sink two games behind us (assuming we hold serve against Army tomorrow) in what looks to be a “down to the final game” fight for 2nd place. Of course, when all is said and done, the Raiders hold the LU tie-breaker based on their season sweep of us. Yet on the other hand, with a Colgate win tonight we stand a slightly better chance of catching the Bison for a share of first. Assuming, that is, we beat Army tomorrow (Wed.) night. Of course, Bucky holds the tie-breaker with us off their season-sweep of the Brown and White. Hey, there’s still three games to be contested after these matches are in the books. The drama – dare I say fun - continues.

Gate beat Bucky tonight. So we can get back to 1st if we beat Army.

Re: Game 26 - Army
Can get back into first with a win tonight, but still not really in first. Need another Bucknell loss to have a chance at regular season title.
Two unfortunate things happen if Lehigh wins last 4 and Bucknell wins last 3 - Would have to play Colgate in the semis (albeit at home) and would need to go to Bucknell in the finals.
Obviously anything can happen in either regular season or tournament, but that is the scenario if the top three keep winning.
Bucknell has Navy, Laf and Army left.

Re: Game 26 - Army
and probably the most likely scenario to play out, Lehigh and Colgate have their toughest remaining games at home, Bucky might have the biggest challenge but they are still the class of the league in spite of dropping last 2, I sure prefer the 2 seed to the 3 seed, don't need to visit the tundra again this yearArtVandelay wrote: ↑Wed Feb 20, 2019 8:53 am Can get back into first with a win tonight, but still not really in first. Re: Game 26 - Army
I'm thinking Bucky must be talking/questioning themselves today as they did on the long ride home last night. And, if I'm a Raiders fan, I'm lovin the fact that we play 2 of our final 3 at home where we presently enjoy a 6-1 record. And, CU's last game is no where else by in Easton against our fiends from across the Valley. How fitting!#!@ Wouldn't you know it! We'll be their biggest fans, I guarantee you, that night as well as on Sunday when the Leopards travel to Bucknell. Great fun!
Re: Game 26 - Army
pards trying to avoid the cellar and have Gate and Buffs as 2 of their last 4, got their work cut out for them for sure
Re: Game 26 - Army
Impressive win. Took some punches, stayed the course, locked in defensively when it mattered. Good stuff all around.
Re: Game 26 - Army
how long will Bennett be out? backcourt getting thin, glad Foley is able to step up like he has. And I am beginning to prefer Ed Porter as the first big off the bench.
Re: Game 26 - Army
Echoing van. Anyine know what Bennett's situation is??
