Game 26 - Army

Young team returns in 2018-2019 with tons of promise. Can they get back to the NCAA Tournament?

Who had the 2nd half in the pool ? :-) I'm never sure if we are going to dig a hole in the beginning or lose intensity at the end. Nice balance though. All 5 starters in double digits. Two to one assists to turnovers.

difference in first half was turnovers, Army with 13 points in first half off numerous turnovers, turnovers have been our Achilles heel all year

Caleb is out for the remainder of the season with a knee injury suffered in practice before Boston game

Oooffff.... I saw the brace on Caleb's knee on the bench tonight. Out for the year? Hopefully not a problem for him next year. Thankfully Joe Foley is picking up speed. He never seems to take an outside shot. So no need to guard him there apparently, but he's like a water bug around the basket. All his points tonight around the rim on quick moves inside.

Army always seems to be a track meet as evidenced by the score. And by he way, Army out scored us from the field 71-68. But we went 23 for 28 from the stripe against their 10 for 12, most or our aggressiveness in the second half.

I have not watched too many games this year, but I turned on in second half, down four ... fun to watch after!

Some of these guys were lights out from outside ...

Army ranks #28 in the nation in terms of the shortest possessions on offense, so the track meet reference is very accurate. Also, they are 344th in the nation in the ratio of FT's to FGA's, at least partly as a result of them shooting a very high pct of threes. That has no doubt cost them a number of games.
