Holy Cross

Young team returns in 2018-2019 with tons of promise. Can they get back to the NCAA Tournament?

12 in uniform....12 dunking snd cheering the others on for the limited time it took place. Fun for them and for those of us who caught sight of it. Confident, too, knowing our coaching staff, that much prep went into this game in the 72 hours that passed since beating Army on Wednesday night. That's just my take anyway.

I’m there anywhere from 60-45 mins early for eVery game. They have a routine of drills they do and stretches. Yes they do shoot. But at some point can also dunk or do whatever. Tough tough loss. I really have come to dislike cross more then anyother team in league lol. I’m beginning to think we could slip up now even in say the second round. Gotta keep believing to. I’m probably making the trip to Loyola this sat. Been wanting to get down there.

Sunday we knew what they would do and they still scored with motion, give and go, and Princeton basics.
In addition, Floyd took us to school underneath. 7 for 7, all in the paint as I recall. They simply worked to got easier shots than we did. And as coach mentioned post-game, we gave up easy looks at the most crucial time, the last 2 minutes.

In summary, a great event to recognize C.J. with 2,900+ in the building. And a lousy ending. The only consolation is that.....the most important game is March 7th. But we sure are not playing our best right now.

we seem to suffer a lot when Karnik sits, had hoped for better results from other bigs

I don't think Karnik was 100 percent yesterday. They seemed to be managing his minutes. He was effective when on the floor, but was on the bench for stretches.
Any word on Andre's injury? There's not much bench on the team right now and it's crunch time

He finished the game with 3 fouls and played only 20 minutes. Without him on the floor, Lehigh had no answer for Floyd

Yes, fouls definitely appeared to limit his minutes:

- Committed his first foul at 14:18 of the first half and was immediately taken out for 5 minutes.
- Committed his 2nd foul with 4:45 remaining in the half and was immediately benched for the rest of the half.
- Committed his 3rd foul in the first 35 seconds of the 2nd half and was immediately benched for the next 8 minutes.

Thus he was immediately removed after each foul, and he collectively sat for 18 minutes before returning to the game. He would very likely have sat a few of those minutes anyway - but probably closer to 8 minutes than 18 minutes.
