Game Time: Noon on Sunday, 2/24

How KenPom Sees It

HC (14-14 / 5-10) Ranked 237th
@
LU (18-8 / 11-4) Ranked 156th
LU wins by 8 (78-70)

Actually, KP sees all the home teams posting a “W” in what is now Game 16 of our 18-game league schedule. On Saturday, he likes: CU by 14 over Navy, and BU by 6 over LOM. On Sunday, it’s AWP by 1 over AU and Bucky by 12 over LC.

Commentary

Having nailed down at least the “3” seed and sitting alone in second a game up on Colgate, it’s now a question of how we can overtake Bucky to win Top Seed honors or at least stay in second and enjoy the seeding arrangement a “2” gets as opposed to a “3” once we get to March. Simply stated, the “2” will play the winner of the 7 vs. 10 game while the “3” plays the “6.” A slight nod favoring the “2,” I’d say. On the other side of the bracket, you’ll find the #1 playing the winner of 8 vs. 9. The winner there would next take on the winner of the 4 / 5 game. Back to overtaking Bucky. If it’s to happen, what better time than on Sunday with a LC win out in Lewisburg and a Mountain Hawk win at home over the Crusaders? Dreaming? Perhaps, but remember LC is riding a five-game winning streak and Bucky has dropped their last two. As for us, LU is 6-2 at Stabler in PL play and facing a Crusader team that has dropped 5 of their last 7.

I look forward to see you all on Sunday. Here’s hoping our students and fans turnout in force to pay their respects to CJ at half-time and to honor our seniors in planed pre-game ceremonies.

watched some of the HC win over Bucky and our guys will need to be patient on O, Bucky got impatient and created a ton of turnovers and that did them in, who ever is guarding Grandison needs their A game and Floyd will be a handful for Karnik and company

I didn't see the game, just looked at the box.

But sounds like you were right on about the patience on O. Ouch! Poor shooting game.

Agreed. Seems like we're "limping" home. Not peaking at the right time.

I've watched closely. Joe has yet to let it fly from behind the arc in warm-up. Quite a fearless slasher to the basket. Quick an agile, along the same line of Cohen, best describes his style. In pregame shoot-around, you seldom see a missed shot. And, all are taken from within the arc!

he is gonna have to take some shot or they will just sag off him, still think he has a lot of upside potential

also, we seem to suffer a lot when Karnik sits, had hoped for better results from other bigs

Yesterday it was a frustrating watch to see Holy Cross get so open off of screens constantly. Credit to the Crusaders, they played their hard, physical, methodical game, and they sank enough shots to win.

Wilson's box-out and putback was the difference in the last minute, but to me the game was lost when Lehigh forgot to play defense with a 6 point lead with I think 5 minutes to go. Cross went down and hit an uncovered 3, grinding Lehigh's offensive momentum to a halt.

I had so many bad flashbacks to the Holy Cross/Lehigh PL championship game at Stabler. Three shots to tie or win in the final minute, and none of the shots fell. Bottom line is you can't sleep on any PL team this time of year. You need that 7-10 point lead in the final two minutes. Don't rely on your shot to save you at the end.
