Re: 2019-20 Out of Conference Schedule
We don't have a single proven guard after JC returning. MW was on par with PWO Foley.
I have previously blamed an inability to recruit a proper mix - never had enough bigs. Clearly, that was short-sighted. We simply can't recruit a basketball team. My "o-fer" OOC prediction stands.
And we used to cut Reed slack for recruiting.

He was somewhat valuable as a guard who could rebound a bit and had a decent first step and some quickness. Handle was marginal, and a bit suspect against quality defenders. In fairness the handle may have improved with game time. But he never took a mid or short range jump shot. In games, or in warm-ups. Never. ????Bison_137 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 02, 2019 11:09 am
Curious why you think Joe Foley probably wouldn't have seen playing time. He played a fair amount in the latter part of the season, including giving them 18 good minutes in the PL semi-final. With four quality players gone, I would have expected him to have a real chance to be in the rotation. I know that LU has some well-regarded frosh arriving, but it's not always easy for a freshman to move ahead of an experienced player - especially one Reed showed confidence in.

can't agree on MW, last year stats may not look strong as he was limited by injury but having watched him for 2 years I think we know that he can shoot the pill, unlike Foley, but do agree that the FR guards will need to step up

Van I'm with you on the MW versus JF comparison. Wilson seemed to lose confidence last year for whatever reason. But he had some very big games as a freshman. Again, just my opinion.
It's quite likely play making this year will be in the hands of freshman to a great extent. The incoming group looks really good on paper. But they always do.... on paper.

FWIW, both American and Navy posted their full 2019-20 schedules on Thursday. One has to think Lehigh's full schedule release isn't too far behind (though IIRC Lehigh typically doesn't formally release its schedule until early September).
Re: 2019-20 Out of Conference Schedule
Per a source, November 9 @Albany
Re: 2019-20 Out of Conference Schedule
Slowly, but ever so slowly, the schedule is taking shape.
Monmouth just released their schedule. As expected, we'll get a rematch with them. The game is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 5th @ Lehigh.

That would mean we're home on opening night for the first time in a long time!
