Starting line-up 2019-2020

Young team returns in 2018-2019 with tons of promise. Can they get back to the NCAA Tournament?

Starting line-up 2019-2020

Post by jimk72 » Sun May 26, 2019 9:26 pm

With the collegiate sports dead period upon us, its time to stir the pot a bit..........

Will we start 2 or 3 freshmen next year???
How about:

PG: Jake Betlow

SG: Jordan Cohen

SF: Evan Taylor or Jakob Alamundun

PF: Jeameril Wilson

C: James Karnik

It could happen. Thoughts?

I would certainly include Marques Wilson in the starting lineup:

PG: Jordan Cohen
SG: Marques Wilson
SF: ??? (guess: Jakob Alamundun)
PF: Jeameril Wilson
C: James Karnik

Hopefully Marquis is back and ready to go. I sense a bit of uncertainty in his corner after last year.

don't count out Porter as a starter if coach goes with a "big" line up, will be interesting to see what frosh blossom, Taylor reported to be a very good defender

Reed seemed to like Foley quite a bit down the stretch as well, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him getting major minutes again next year.

There was very little info online about Betlow's senior year. He does come from a big time HS program though, so may have an easier adjustment to college than a typical freshman.

Fenton had a very impressive offer list (Drake, Bowling Green, Drexel, Siena among others) and has pretty good size at 6'4. I could see him getting early minutes as well.

After Cohen, Karnik, and J. Wilson it's pretty wide open. Lynch will get good minutes off the bench and I expect Foley as well - but that's about all we know at this point.

Foley a good facilitator but not a scorer based on what I saw to date, we need to replace a lot of offensive production with the loss of Kyle, Lance, Pat and Caleb, one of the frosh will need to put up some good numbers and overall D will need to be stronger than last year to have a successful season

listening to coach snipit, it sure sounds like Jordan, Marques, James and Jeameril are 4 of the 5 starters, will be interesting to see if one of the FR steps up, Alamundun and Taylor both have nice pedigrees or one of the guards with a 3 guard line up?

curious, when was the last time we had 4 centers on the roster?

Cant recall any. None I'm sure with 3 schollie players. Doc has favored 3 and 4 G lineups perhaps out of necessity. I wonder how he will deal with the bigs next yr.

Don’t rule out Evan Taylor starting at 3 between Wilsons

Question for the mavens. Will Doc manage his starters for better matchups with various teams? There does seem to be more options in the frontline than we've had in prior years
