James Karnik has entered the transfer portal

Young team returns in 2018-2019 with tons of promise. Can they get back to the NCAA Tournament?

James gave everything he had on the court, improved every year, and became a leader. He will be sorely missed and we wish him well where ever he goes.

That said, this provides an opportunity for everyone who was in the regular rotation. It also relieves what might have become a problem getting some talented people enough minutes.

For now, just for grins, consider:
Nic 5, Jeameril 4, Evan 3/4, Reed 2/3, Marques 1/2. Bench: Alamudun/Li/Tan 3/4, Betlow/Sinclair/Arion 1....

Fenton made league all rookie, and Taylor was there as well without the injury. J. & M. Wilson not too shabby either. If Nic and the rest continue to improve we should be at least pretty good next year. Assuming something close to a regular world returns.

From our fox hole just outside of Allentown, here's hoping everyone out there is well!

Fwiw, here are schools who have been reported to have talked to Karnik:

Boston College, Arkansas, Oregon State, Ball State, Toledo, Hawaii, and South Alabama.

Various articles all say he will not be a grad transfer and will thus have to sit a year unless the rule is changed in the next couple of months.

Karnik has committed to Boston College. Goodman says he is a grad transfer - which contradicts several previous articles. Goodman often makes mistakes, however, so we will have to wait and see.

This makes sense as one of the best rebounders in the league.

I know where I would choose between Toledo and Hawaii though!

BC is a great move though. They got lit up in big games, but you get to play ACC!

It was confirmed that Karnik is not a grad transfer and likely will have to sit out a year.

Apparently James Karnik IS a grad transfer, or he got a waiver. Last night in a losing cause against Florida:

3-6 from the floor (1-3 from Three!), team leading 6 rebounds, 2 steals, and one block in 18 minutes.

Hopefully he's happy.

Cool! Good for him. At least he's playing.

He got a waiver. The NCAA is now talking about backtracking and giving everyone a waiver for this year. They will be voting on that in the next 10 days.
