Apparently Council couldnt create an OOC plan that all agreed to. Puzzled. Why would all schools have to agree on a one size fits all plan? Rumor is Byerly was the stumbling block.

No non-league games seems to be a ridiculous position to take. Is this strictly to save money? Anyone with any insight on this?

Perhaps Jim but most of us get a bunch of money games. Dunno whether thats possible this year but why preclude us from trying for a few. I know it may prove fruitless if Nov/Dec covid/flu precludes indoor games. What does it hurt to prepare for the possibility that some or all of those games could be played.

I have no idea how these OOC games work in terms of payout. I suspect some have a guaranteed purse and some pay a % of the gate. Even if there is basketball this winter, do you suspect many fans in the stands? Is a big payday even possible?

Payouts are virtually always guaranteed. However there are clauses in the contract that may reduce the payout if there is some reason that attendance is much lower than was expected. This year there will be very few big payouts.

There is absolutely no reason for a one size fits all plan, other than the complete lack of intestinal fortitude on the part of most patriot league presidents. I expect we will see that Army and Navy get an exemption, as they did in the fall.

Muhlenberg and Moravian could be useful matchups for this one year. Give the backups some PT.
