2 weeks til tip off?

Young team returns in 2018-2019 with tons of promise. Can they get back to the NCAA Tournament?

2 weeks til tip off?

Post by van » Fri Dec 18, 2020 2:59 pm

just over 2 weeks and very little chatter, what are we thinking of this team/season? team will be pretty young but Lynch, Wilson, Wilson, Fenton and Taylor are all experienced and capable but is that a good starting 5 combo and who else steps up? Alamudun got a lot of mins last year and should be counted on a lot, we have a lot of positive history with FR point guards stepping in early and often, is that in the cards this year also, which one of the FR bigs gets to spell Lynch? assuming we go with some combination of 3 guards, 1 big and 1 forward, and maybe small line up with 3 guards and 2 forwards depending on match ups

Just went thru Youtube available video again for Sinclair, Li, Parolin, and Tan. As usual they really don't give any great indication of who might stand out. One thing for sure, the quartet of Lynch, Tan, Parolin and Li should not get pushed around. 250, 280, 230, and 230. Plus J. Alamudun comes in at 225. We will be big underneath!

Still, barring injury I would be surprised if the starters aren't M.Wilson, Fenton, Taylor, J. Wilson and Lynch. Despite the youth, I love the lineup. And still see a lot of upside potential for the underclassmen.

Rotation minutes should be wide open for the new comers. Sinclair and Betlow battle for the point. Alamudun, Li, and Parolin for Taylor and J. Wilson breaks. J.T. Tan looks like a shorter version of Nic, but with quicker to the basket moves. If he's slimmed down a bit since getting to camp, and adds to his muscle & quickness he could be a real interesting player underneath.

And finally, lets hope the ESPN+ is reliable.

ps: who all got cut outs? (my wife and I did)

Schedule update. PL has increased PL games from 25 to 30. Some indication that OOC games will be allowed. The details remain to be finalized.

Did I miss something? I thought the PL schedule is only 16 games + playoffs

Me too. Just popped up on twitter. Tweet said its for '21 season. Of course we now have two seasons in 21. The tag that OOC games would be allowed leads me to first 21 season. 4 vs each instead of 3.

Who do you see playing at the point? I'm not sure either MWilson or Fenton are pure PGs.

Dig some digging. I think the tweet may be referring to baseball not basketball. Which wpuld make more sense to me.

Betlow a PG but he seems buried on the bench.
