What in the world….

Young team returns in 2018-2019 with tons of promise. Can they get back to the NCAA Tournament?

You mean playing a D3 bible school with less than 700 undergrads? I stopped trying to understand a long time ago.

I understand your angst but sometimes you just need to interject a confidence booster and give the bench an opportunity to shine.

I suspect that the folks at North Carolina were asking the same question when they played us. Remember we had games with Penn State, North Carolina, Providence and one with Boston College coming up soon. That may reflect the other end of the scheduling spectrum.

Probably giving everyone an opportunity to play, just like Oneonta. Gotta get a W somehow.

I understand scheduling a team that one 'should' beat, but Cairn???!!! If we're going to schedule a D3 team at home, why not Muhlenberg or Moravian...at least we might get 500 to show up. SMH

BTW, Cairn was 6-2 in Div 3 and averaged 88 ppg.

Means nothing ..but found it interesting

Cairn was 6-2, but their D3 strength of schedule is 417 in the county. That is a bad d3 team.

And to be clear, I'm not a huge fan of playing BC, UNC, providence etc. What about the massive middle? The good regional, sometimes winnable, games?

Drexel, Hofstra, Iona, Duquesne, Vermont, Delaware, Old Dominion, and on and on. Maybe an MTE now and then. Instead it's games at high majors, the drags of D1, and D3 home games. And the same pattern every.single.year. The opponent names change but the philosophy doesn't.

I agree we should not be playing THE Cairn's of the world (it's embarrassing). And I strongly agree with playing Muhlenburg, Moravian, or De Sales or Kutztown or East Stroudsburg in place of the Cairns of the world. As far as playing mid to high majors, I think we should play 2 or 3 a year for a bunch of reasons including recruiting, publicity, alumni engagement, etc.

But this issue pales in comparison to the real issue: THE CURRENT COACHING STAFF CAN'T COACH THEIR WAY OUT OF A WET PAPER BAG! Player development? Game management?

The entire league is weak this year. The best win was Bucknell over Penn State.
