This is an example of why computer models often are out of touch with reality. For Bucknell, Nate Sestina is out. Sestina, who was a 1st team All-PL preseason pick, was the best player on the floor vs St. Bonaventure and is Bucknell's most important player by a good margin. Without him, Bucknell is likely at least a 6-point underdog to a good Canisius team. Additionally they are missing two other rotation players.

Marist is not big or deep down low, should be able to work the ball to the either of our 2 big guys and when they sag, kick out to any of the 4 shooters

Are we ready to move Lynch into the starting lineup, yet?

J.K. has been a bit of a foul machine. Big Nic a bit less in that regard. So they will both get plenty of minutes early in the season. With the good doctor, moving a freshman into the starting lineup over last year's starter usually takes 4-6 games. Big Nic will get there eventually. Much quicker if he goes off for 20 points and 15 boards. I was impressed with his game against the Miami skyscrapers. With that showing I think anything is possible.

I'm not in any position to debate who should be starting, but I don't think tendency to foul separates them. Karnik thus far has committed 8.7 fouls per 40 minutes and Lynch 9.1 fouls per 40.

Lynch thus far in what is a very small sample size has a big edge in offensive rebounding and in blocked shots.

I stand corrected. They're both foul machines. Scoring? Lynch 20 points in 35 total minutes. Karnik 6 points in 37 minutes. Rebounds? Nic 13, James 10.

To be clear, I like them both, and eager to see them in person tonight at Stabler. Who else among us will be there?

I'll be there, Jim.

Could be wrong, of course, but see a win should we ........

a. Win the rebounding battle and, in turn, tack on a few additional second chance points. After two games, we're up 91 to 73 in boards and held Miami to just 45 while we pulled down one less or 44.

b. Hold the dynamic due of of Parker and Funk in check. Let's say 33 or less - compared to their early season per game total of 42 or their tally from a year ago of 41.

c. Generate some crowd excitement - something, sadly, that's not always a given.

I like JK and NL sharing minutes and banging hard every minute they are in the game, let them get 4 fouls each and 20 mins each, an enforcer and rebounder in the middle is no small advantage in PL
