Picked to finish 8th in Pre-season Poll, the Midshipmen got off to a surprising start with two wins at home over CU and HC. They came down to earth a week later with loses to AU and BU. Just last week, they picked up their 3rd W over home-standing Easton but followed that up with a loss to AWP this past Saturday. They are led by 6’7” Senior, George Kernan (# 21) and 6’1” Sophomore Cam Davis (# 22). The pair combine for about 25ppg. Lehigh’s last win at Alumni Hall came on 2/17/16 when Kempton, Chuku, and Ross combined for60 to lead the way.

PL RAMBLINGS

ARMY (4-2)
Lost to Bucky and LOM by a combined 3 points. Or, you can say they are simply 3 points away from a
6 and 0 start and a position atop the League Standings. In the midst of a three-game
homestand. Won the first two by a combined 21 points. They now await HC on Wednesday. Should
they win and follow they up with a road W over LC on Saturday, they could be sitting pretty at 6-2 this
time next week. From there, it’s 6 of the last 10 on the road with the finale scheduled to take place
out in Lewisburg. How Interesting.

LOYOLA (3-3)
Began League play with 3 straight Ls but now go for their 4th consecutive W in a game to be played
out in Lewisburg. This after dropping three to AWP, BU and HC – two in OT.

HOLY CROSS (2-4)
Oh, what might have been. 2 OT losses and another L by 2.

COLGATE (3-3)
L-W-L-W-L-W. Can they put two together - two of any type. They may never get a better chance than
on Wednesday when LC comes calling.

AMERICAN (2-4)
Losers of three in a row, they now get BU again in a scheduling quirk – a team they already faced
and beat back on Jan. 2. After BU, they’re home to Bucknell – again a team they’ve already faced. To
compensate, they’ll get a double-dose of HC and Loyola over their last 10 games.

Just goes to show how competitive the PL is. Very fine lines separating most of the teams.

Still at work so only following along online. Good to see the team learned their lesson after Bucknell and really came out strong on the glass (sarcasm). Gave up 10 o-boards in the first half, some things never change.

Great movement on O. Navy did a good job defending 3 and we responded by working the inside. We still treat offensive rebounds as just not that important. A W with our usual flaws which will cost us more Ls.

they are getting used to everything going in so no need to pursue a offensive rebound, shots not dropping tonight and only one guy in the paint to rebound against 3 hungry navy guys

Recall Doc ssying a ehile back the he was not a proponent of crashing the boards. He would rather his Gs got back into D. I get that but there s/b some balance.

I have no problem not crashing the offesive glass the way this team shoots, but you need to get stops on D and seal it up with a rebound. Lehigh gave up 10 offensive boards in the first half and just three in the second. Likely contributed to being able to pull away.

A win is a win..... but the allowance of opponents' offensive rebounds (13) and the turnovers (15, many unforced) drives me nuts. That being said, Weick is very nice player. But he seemed to be unchallenged on a number of Navy misses that turned into easy Navy second chance points. Even on a relatively poor 3 point shooting night, this game did not have to be this close.

Maybe I should just be happy to win at Navy. We lost the previous 2 there. But we have to get better in these areas (to's & rebounding) if we expect to win in Lewisburg and elsewhere.

PS: Kudos to Nic Lynch w/ 6 boards in 12 minutes..... tied for team lead this game w/KL......
