Having made the trip, he's presumed to have been fit to wrestle, right? Or maybe by that time Smith, not contemplating big points from Montalvo, thought he had lost the dual.
Apparently, they (OSU people) call him Fat Joe! He just barely made 184+1. (He weighed 185.0)
The coach made a statement in which he implied that Meyer is a somewhat undersized 165. Do you happen to know what he weighed in at?

Tough way for Oklahoma State to lose a dual, although Lehigh came close to scoring more points at 157, 174 and 285, not to mention 184. John Smith's record as a coach plummets to 427-63-6.

Ignoring whatever's going on at 184 and 197, I thought everybody wrestled hard. Nice win for Pomrinca. Paetzell, Hoffman and Meyer fought for the win despite being overmatched. Humphreys was a beast out there. Kutler was Kutler vs a high quality back-up.

I didn't see the weighin sheet. I heard the Smith weight from Willie initially and others seemed to agreer. So no, I don't know what Brian weighed.
However, given that he certed at 157 I would agree with the statement.

I don’t know Santoro, our doctor or any staff at Lehigh personally but I can’t believe any of them would resort to shenanigans like this. Our culture doesn’t tolerate this sort of stuff (best as I can tell).

The sad fact is that if Weiler had actually wrestled to his ability or close to it, he wouldn’t have been pinned (probably wins) and all of this is likely a moot point.

I know Weiler has flashes of brilliance but his inconsistency is so alarming I’d almost rather have him benched.

I wasn't there, but no one with any sense questions Jack Foley's integrity.

What I heard from people who were there are things like "open lesion" and "clear case of herpes". Sound okay to you? I also know that at least two Lehigh wrestlers were prevented from wrestling at the Journeymen because of skin issues; blocked by the Lehigh staff, not Troy's.

The referenced article casts a lot of aspersions, but doesn't actually quote anybody or cite any evidence; best to consider the source.

Doesn’t sound ok to me. Not sure why you asked as my previous post was clearly skeptical of the accusations made in that blog.

I posted (ranted?) about this article on TheMat forum. I think the guy got some things conflated between Drexel and Lehigh. What I've heard is that he was cleared at Drexel and dqed at Lehigh. Not cleared then dqed at Lehigh.

Not the first time we've seen Weiler gas, have seen it before but we always passed it off as all the weight bumping around he had to do, wrestling heavier guys etc.....Maybe he's having a tough time coming back down from 197, but people were defending him as a "lite" 197 last year........

Was really strange how good we looked till 184-285 where all 3 of our wrestlers suddenly looked damn near shot after 1 period of their matches......Jordan Wood's weight advantage and skill kept him safe but that was not a pretty stretch for our guys......

I think many of us assumed 174 thru 285 would be the strength of the team this year, it's early but that wasn't encouraging in 2 out of 4 of those weights.......
