Just a quick note: Princeton lost to Oklahoma State last night, 18-15, after forfeiting 165 (depth is a bit of a problem with that team). At 184 Travis Stefanik beat Anthony Montalvo in sudden victory. Now, Chris Weiler beat Stefanik fairly easily in our dual, but collapsed against Montalvo a week earlier. We've heard that the flu ran through our upper weights a few weeks ago; assuming Montalvo was 100% last night, it shows that Chris was a pretty sick puppy the night of the Oklahoma State dual and really took one for the team.
Stefanik also just beat #6 Nelson Brands from Iowa 7-6. Makes Weiler’s win look even better. Consistency and smartEr wrestling will take him far.

I just looked at Cornells site and it does not show whether the dual is Friedman or Newman. In fact there schedule only shows South Beach and January events?????
Look harder:

Lehigh University
Jan 11 (Sat)
Ithaca, N.Y.
Friedman Wrestling Center
1:00 p.m.

Looks like NCState, VT, and UNC are the Newman matches this year.
Interesting they changed. updated that site in that hour and a half. But that happened because I looked at(and refreshed) three times to be sure, When did this pettiness over using the smaller gymn start? I remember Napoli wrestling wrestling Dake in jan 2011 at Stabler

Weiler is a mystery man as he looked lost against Penn State freshman stud. Beating Stephanik was a good sign but consistency within that match was a problem as I recall. Give him a pass for Okie State for sure but he has a long way to go before he deserves a ranking.

Who forfeited at 165-Okie State or Princeton?

The Penn State freshman Weiler wrestled is one of those super blue chip recruits Penn State gets who has the talent to be a national champ as a true freshman.

Princeton could have won 5 vs Iowa if everything had gone right. But the 5 who lost, lost by BPs. In fact, the matches vs Marinelli, Kemerer and DeSanto were brutally one-sided, although 2 of those were vs Princeton backups. Also, Brands ducked Pat Glory and didn't wrestle Spencer Lee. Smart move really.

Nice win by Stefanik, but not sure how Nelson Brands gets rated as #10 at this point.

Brucki would have won his match if he'd just stalled his ass off at the end. In a way it's to his credit that he didn't, and it won't really hurt him in the ratings.

Close but no cigar for Mike DeAngelo vs the stronger Lugo. Kaleb Young was also stronger, vs Monday, but Monday was able to neutralize his strength and out-wrestle him. Monday was impressive. I don't know what he did over the summer in Monday world, but he's a lot better this year. And he was good last year.
