Re: Wilkes Open on 12/22
Grape jokes aside, it's good to see guys who are under the radar (at least to fans who are following from far away), getting some matches in. Both Eli's placed. Moran won his weight. Sounds like everybody wrestled pretty well.

Re: Wilkes Open on 12/22
Not a good tournament for improving records for guys unfortuantely......
I believe Meyer went 1-1 against D1 opponenets, a win against his teammate Frinzi and a loss to Joe Lee......
Moran went 1-0 against D1? (I don't think Williams is D1 so his only win would be against unattached Lockhaven?).......
Hoffman beat Karam and a unattached-PSU wrestler to go 2-0 (not counting medical forfeit to PSU in final or he would have been 2-1).....
Logan made it to the semi's where he lost to Mark Hall, which I believe was his only D1 match so his D1 record would be 0-1 for the tourney......
Just a few examples.....

I think Meyer had a pretty underwhelming tournament. Can't find the brackets but my recollection is he got three one point wins over unimpressive competition then lost in the final to Lee. What does Lee's resume look like?

I think you need to do more research before you post. I located this stuff in 10 minutes.
Meyer beat the unrostered Anthony Asatrian 3-2 in the first round. Asatrian is a 2019 HS grad who placed 3rd in NJ. Asatrian easily won two other bouts, then lost 5-3 to UVA's Nic Sansone, a freshman who is a VA 6A state champ and the OW at the Virginia Duals high school division.
Meyer then pinned Nate Newberry in overtime; regulation ended 2-2, with Meyer scoring the only TD. Newberry had an escape and riding time. In sudden victory Meyer took Newberry down and pinned him. Newberry's a senior, former PA 4th and 7th with 146 HS wins.
Then he beat Frinzi, who we know is pretty good. I tend to discount bouts between guys who wrestle every day.
Joe Lee is a 2x Indiana state champ, 1x runnerup, 2018 HS grad who was Intermat's #10 overall recruit, greyshirted last year, and is undefeated so far this year; brother of #2 ranked Nick Lee. Meyer lost 6-3; Lee's four other wins were falls and tech falls.
Since Meyer is a 157-pounder who's wrestling up a class, I was quite pleased by his outing.

Meyer's had a year plus wrestling at Lehigh. Asatrian was a NJ third who graduated last spring and isn't wrestling for a college. Meyer beat him 3-2. Then he took on Newberry, who was 15-17 at Bloomsburg last season, who took him to overtime. Then he beat true frosh teammate Frinzi, who I don't think finished higher than PA 4th, 3-1. Oh, and I didn't say he had a pretty underwhelming tournament for a 157 pounder (but is he still a 157 pounder having been the starter at 165 all season?). I said he had a pretty underwhelming tournament. Nice try.
