Sorry to interrupt with some real results, but Jake Logan just defeated IM #19 Joe Grello of Rutgers (a r/s junior).

Saw that. Nice win. Logan is a good sized 174. Ruth more like 165 currently...subject to change of course. Lane also advanced.

Grello had a pretty bad tourney as did Joe Smith who is a poseur.

Interrupt what? Is this a forum or Sportscenter?

Anyone see Moran’s match?

Joe Smith defines HEW to me...

I think both Logan and Ruth are searching for their best weights. Ruth is a good deal taller than Logan. The day I visited practice in mid-October the two had just cert'd -- Ruth looked sculpted, like he couldn't lose another ounce without cutting off a body part. Logan looked like he could lose some. I think long-term we'll see Logan at 174 and Ruth at 184.

The last three guys Ruth faced are a 6th-year senior, a 5th-year senior who's a 2x NCAA qualifier, and a 4th-year senior who's a 4-year starter. Experience helps.

I understand all the points being made about Ruth but I watched that match with a couple other guys and we all saw the same thing.... lack of interest.... any chance he’s currently cutting to 165?

Which match? I did not see his last match that he lost, only the one where he lost in the championship bracket (to Rider). He was getting frustrated for sure as he really couldn't do anything and was getting muscled around pretty good.

His last match in consi's....seemed totally disinterested until near the end of the match when he got dinged for stalling (again) and suddenly seemed pissed off and energized......

I would assume match is archived in Flo and you can watch it......just click on match in bracket and they are usually archived......only thing I could think is he is making the cut to 165 and was worn out ..... assuming Galik is out injured he is our only "starting" type wrestler who certified for 165 right? (I assume he did because he wrestled off at 165)......

Logan looks good at 174, with his height though I have a hard time seeing him at 184 (Hamlin was a short 184, , I don't think he's even as tall as Hamlin but I could be wrong)....I agree long term Ruth at 184 and Logan at 174 would be optimal........but Logan would have to hold the weight which I could see being difficult, he wrestled 182 in High school and Ruth would have to do the opposite and add a lot of muscle....

Mookie's comment on McGonagle worries me, he looked like the real deal.....

Lot of assume and speculation in this post, just giving my opinion on a forum.....

Update on this post: Matches do not seem to be archived for this event?

I don't have any inside knowledge, but my initial reaction is: No, no way.

And some guys just never have a "fired up" look. Take a look at Weiler's face while he's wrestling. He looks like it's been an hour since a fish bit.

Lane goes down 10-5 to NCS. Wrestled hard for 7 minutes but couldn't get a takedown while his opponent got 4 (one in garbage time). Only Logan remains.
