LU v Binghamton & Cornell 1/10 & 1/11

Post by whiz wit » Fri Jan 03, 2020 10:13 am

Fans please note that the Binghamton dual is scheduled for 5 p.m. I believe it was originally scheduled for 7. And although the LU Schedule doesn't presently include a "WATCH" link for either the Binghamton dual or the Cornell dual the following day, the former is on Flo's live stream schedule and the latter is on ESPN+'s.

I'm kind of surprised that no one put up any predicts for the upcoming duals for this Friday & Saturday.
Lemme git the conversation rolling, starting w/ the Wrestlestat dual comparator...
Binghamton: https://www.wrestlestat.com/compare/dua ... binghamton
You can change wrestlers that may or may not be in the lineup... Farro vs Trampe shows WS favoring Trampe.
Insert Lane for Farro and WS shows Lane as the winner.
Karam may get the nod@149(IF Hoffman is still down), doesn't matter, either would win.
WS gives LEHIGH the win 27-9

Here's the same for Cornell... you can change wrestlers as well for who you think will be in the lineup:

WS favors LEHIGH in this one, 21-9.

... somehow, I got a feeling that it may be closer than that. ;)

The only match that matters against Bing is 184 and Weiler will shock the world taking out Louie D., 9-7.

Cornell dual will be 7-3 in favor of LU. They win 133, 165, 197.

The Lehigh dual will be Cornell's first competition since the Southern Scuffle, so I guess we'll see if any Cornell wrestlers not in school in the fall semester suddenly become active for the spring. Harvard's Nolan Hellickson and Brown's Theo Powers are back in school and wrestling for their respective varsities. If Arujau and Dean are in the lineup Saturday things may be a trifle more difficult than we're expecting.

No ifs, ands, or buts, from the third-hand info I've heard. You can bet the ranch he won't wrestle this weekend.

v Cornell:

125 - LU regular decision
133 - CU regular
141 - Tossup
149 - Tossup
157 - LU regular, and if Yap out for CU, possible bonus
165 - CU regular-tossup
174 - LU regular, and if Womack out for CU, likely big bonus
184 - Tossup
197 - CU regular-big bonus
285 - LU regular

I'm sure Weiler would be overjoyed if Dean shows up at 184 this weekend.

(Just looked it up: Weiler is 0-4 against Dean and Darmstadt, the only Cornell guys he's faced)
