CP and RPI Rankings
CP and RPI Rankings
The first Coaches' Panel rankings are due out today, although I've heard they may be late and won't be available until tomorrow.
What I wasn't expecting is that we may see the first RPI rankings as well. In the past the first RPIs came out along with the second CP, but with only 15 bouts needed this year (down from 17) to qualify for the RPI, they may go ahead and release RPI at this time. Emphasis on may.

Re: CP and RPI Rankings
wrestlestat now shows computed RPI as per current W-L records even for guys who don't have the minimum # of matches (they're just listed as NA). e.g. Paetzell is #8 but NA. If it's now 15 instead of 17 it looks like ws has not updated their formula.

Glory and Piccinini both have 15 matches and are NA. Courtney has 17 exactly and is ranked

Re: CP and RPI Rankings
Looks like wrestlestat has fixed their formula since I originally posted, so now guys with 15 are shown as ranked.
They forgot to update the info box above though, which still mentions 17.
Re: CP and RPI Rankings
The NCAA released the Coaches' Panel rankings a little while ago. We'll have to wait until 2/13 to see the RPI.

Re: CP and RPI Rankings
Wonder how the fact that one of Humphreys matches is to someone who will likely have wrestled only that one bout by the end of regular season?

Yes, I saw traffic to the site coming from this forum so I came over to check it out. Saw your post, so I went and updated the formula and re-ran the RPI rankings.
Thanks for keeping me on my toes!
Re: CP and RPI Rankings
Was there a question in that question?
Richb refers to Josh's loss to Penn State's Brady Berge, who wrestled only the one bout with Josh. In calculating RPI opponents are not held to the 15-bout limit. Berge's winning percentage for RPI purposes will be 1.000; his opponents' winning percentage will be Josh's, which is .750 right now.
