Looks like Kolodzik is coming off ORS/Gray Shirt. If all perform to ranking, that gives PU 4 ranked in the top 5. Impressive. Also in time for Cornell dual. Think that was a factor? If DeAngelo was returning I don’t think this would have happened. Questionable move this late in the season. If it works Coach Ayers is a genius, if it doesn’t he’ll be second-guesses forever.
Re: Princeton
**** That could also tighten up the EIWA race as well. It looks like a 4 team race, Lehigh, Princeton, Army and Cornell. We will need everyone to at least wrestle to their seed and perhaps a few exceed. I cannot wait.
Re: Princeton
does Kolodzik earn an auto qualifier for EIWA?

Re: Princeton
Wow. That's going to make tomorrow's match a lot more interesting. Without D'Angelo, Richard would probably get a bonus point decision. Vs. Kolodzik, the opposite result, imo.
Per WS Koloz. is now 7-0 in D1. Princeton has 4 more duals counting Cornell. Per the CP ratings page...
https://www.ncaa.com/news/wrestling/art ... l-rankings
"Wrestlers must have participated in at least five matches against Division I opponents in the weight class and have wrestled within the last 30 days to be ranked."
So, I'm thinking Kolozdik will be ranked prior to EIWAs but not have enough bouts for an RPI.

Re: Princeton
He needs a minimum of eight bouts; including today, Princeton has five duals remaining, plus he beat four Div I opponents at the Edinboro Open last weekend. He was wrestling unattached then but if he's in school in the sprimg semester those bouts should count on his record. I would say yes.
Probably means D'Angelo's injury is severe enough that he's done for the season and career. Princeton must really want to win the Ivy title.
I just saw the Princeton press release a few minutes ago and wondered if Kolodzik was a mistake; but he's back on their roster, too. Must be for real.

He won't have an RPI. But with eight bouts he'll have a winning percentage and a CP ranking; that's all he needs.LU in the Hub wrote: ↑Sat Feb 08, 2020 6:04 pm So, I'm thinking Kolozdik will be ranked prior to EIWAs but not have enough bouts for an RPI.

Re: Princeton
Pretty good write-up on nj.com quoting Chris Ayres.

It seems like all parties agreed that this was the right way to go. Tough break for Mike D'Angelo after obviously putting in a lot of work to get ready for this season.
Hope I can view this live tomorrow on ESPN+ but if not I'm definitely going to watch it on replay.
Re: Princeton
At 2 pm (when you posted) I was finishing lunch at Ruby Tuesday in Harrisonburg. Didn't see any of this until after 8. Sorry if it offends you that I'm not plugged in at all times. And if you read as many team press releases as I do you'd know how many errors, including mis-identification of wrestlers, that they contain.

You need to work on having a sense of humor. Cornell today.
