I would think the coaches are focused on seeing these two weights sort themselves out by looking at performance versus the same/comparable opponents. Style of opponent can also have a big effect. Especially at 133. Farro's lack of height and Lane's leverage come into play when considering the opponent. Nick has shown a real difficulty in dealing with wrestlers significantly taller than him. 141, to me, seems more like a 'head game'. Physical skills and ability are there for both, but 'state of mind' seems to be more of an issue. Who is 'driving' to be the dominant wrestler? Tough calls at both weights.

>>>>>> Couldn't agree more. Good analysis. Farro not trending in the right direction -- perhaps he is injured. Lane's leverage is more in vogue these days. Will be a tough call for coach. 141 is more of the same. Of course, most fans prefer a guy who attacks and Moran's win wrestling up against Navy was terrific. Another difficult decision for coach. No combination would surprise me; Farro/Pomrinca, Farro/Moran, Lane/Pomrinca or Lane/Moran.....although the 2 sophs might be the best choice.

One of the issues is top 33 -- both Farro and Pomrinca are right at the edge whereas neither Lane or Moran are.

This is the tale of the backup QB They always look great but usually a reason that the coach picked the starter

Farro has 0 pins in 14 bouts. Lane has 6 pins in 21 bouts. Those bonus points that one can accumulate in the early rounds of the EIWAs come in handy.

I don't think any staff chooses its team with that in mind.

Farro will earn a spot if he wrestles two more bouts and qualifies for an RPI ranking. Lane is short of the minimum .700 winning percentage, has enough bouts for an RPI but might not be top 33, is unlikely to receive a CP ranking. So at 133, the answer is Farro.

Pomrinca's CP ranking was 33, he needs two bouts to qualify for an RPI ranking, is well short of a .700 WP. It's unlikely he'll earn an AQ. Moran has a .750 winning percentage, needs three bouts to qualify for an RPI ranking, is unlikely to qualify for a CP ranking but might not need one if his RPI is high enough. Pomrinca's an almost certain no and Moran's a maybe.

Lane could get to .700 with a couple of wins, he has a good chance to get there with a tourney or the remaining duals, still might not have enough RPI however

Teams seem to have the book on Farro....Basically the opposite strategy of wrestling Randy Cruz or Matt Cuisulli.
