**** Really hope both Hoffman and Jakobsen are ok. Jimmy re-hurt his previously hurt and bandaged left knee while on top and preventing his opponent escaping. It looked like it was twisted while trying to post up for more leverage. Jakobsen on the other hand (as Rich posted), was being ridden and was returned hard directly on to his right shoulder with authority. He immediately winced and was really hurt. The ref should have stopped it then before the back points. Jake wanted to continue, waving off Jack Foley, but Pat stopped him from continuing (a very wise move), because we are only 2 weeks from tournament time.

It looks like Jack will have a busy schedule the next 2 weeks, especially trying to get Jake ready. Jimmy's injury is what it is and probably no worse for this match. We need them both for the EIWAs and the Animal Show.

Hope they're both OK. Actually more optimistic about Jake than Jimmy, since the knee probably won't be healed this season. Jimmy got his foot caught under him and painfully torqued his knee (a little after 00:14:00 in the broadcast). Jake hit the mat square on his shoulder with the weight of both wrestlers completely on the shoulder (01:20:17). Meanwhile, the ref was running around to the other side for some reason, changing places with the second ref, and never saw Jake's reaction. Hopefully it's not an injury and will just feel tender today. Jake wanted to shake it off and return.

UPenn has nice lightweights: Colaiocco, Ferrante, Zapf and Revano are all tough. Artalona is obviously tough. Roger is building; it's a process. Not sure if he can come back to par with Princeton and Cornell but he is recruiting NJ well, but needs to get back in the PA game.

I saw a bit of the video on Penn's website this morning. They didn't show the slam, just the part leading up to Jake being turned and then the stoppage; I agree, the bout should have been stopped before the turn. Jake was just laying there not doing much.

Jake's right arm was trapped at his side when he landed on his right shoulder. Nothing to brace himself with.

Does anyone now why Penn forfeited the first two weights? Colaiocco especially at 125 would have been a good bout with Paetzell. Also, no Artalona at 157?

Injuries, I guess. Penn had just three 125s and two 133s on their roster; the Ivies have so many guys in and out of school that we should probably view their rosters differently from other schools. Blair Orr hasn't wrestled since Midlands; Daniel Planta wrestled at the F&M Open and in two duals; Gianni Ghione didn't wrestle at all. Aside from them there're just Colaiocco and Ferrante.

Artalona last wrestled against ODU at the Virginia Duals; I know that he was hurt against Larry Early. Cam Connor took over after that and his last dual was against Cornell. Errico, up from 149, has wrestled the last four duals.

Thank you! That was a much more complete answer than I could have hoped for.

Thanks again.
