National Recruiting
Re: National Recruiting
Hey, this is the Lehigh Wrestling forum. If Rich wants to post his opinions that are critical of Cornell and how they operate The Family Business, that's his right. If the offended party, in this case a Cornell grad, doesn't like it -- tough.
My opinion: I have no clue what the admission standards are for SUNY-Ithaca; I assume they are slightly less the Ivy Cornell. Couldn't care less. We have gone over this -- it's an advantage that other Ivies don't have. Heck, it's an advantage not many programs have. But in the end it's totally within the rules. So grumble away -- it ain't gonna change.
Granted CU had a watered down line-up this year, but Lehigh has adjusted winning the past 3 EIWA team titles and the past 2 dual meets. Game on.
Ivy League undergraduate student population:
Cornell = 15,182
UPenn = 10,183
Brown = 7,043
Harvard = 6,788
Dartmouth = 6,350
Columbia = 6,202
Yale = 5,964
Princeton = 5,428

Re: National Recruiting
Actually it is a compliment to the Community College. I had a friend who for whatever reason spent a year at U of Alabama. when he transferred "home" to Lock Haven, they would accept only As from Bama for credit. I think we all agree that the better SUNY colleges, Ithaca, Bing, Stonybrook, etc has stricter academic standards than LHU.
Re: National Recruiting
Hey, don't knock U of Alabama. They've only got a 59% acceptance rate. Tompkins has a 100% acceptance rate.Richb-3 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 19, 2020 2:47 pm Actually it is a compliment to the Community College. Re: National Recruiting
The hundredth percentile in NYS may be better than the 59th percentile in Bama

Yeah, but one Southerner can lick twenty Yankees --- from the script of Gone With The Wind.
I looked up the average grades and SATs of freshmen at Binghamton a few years ago and got a surprise. They're very high. Not Ivy level, but better than I would have expected from a state u that isn't UNC or UVA.

Why don't you do something useful for once and look it up yourself? I'm too busy finishing up on the EIWA season.
