Re: Re-Cap of recruits
Thanks Steve. A very impressive group considering who signed just last year. This is outstanding work by coach Santoro and staff. Ten guys....all with potential. I wonder who will poke their head above the rest in a year or two?
Sometimes guys develop once in college. Sometimes guys were better high school wrestlers and don't adjust to D1. Sometimes there is an on-gong battle for starting spots like there was this year at 133 and 141. Those battles helped both Farro and Pomrinca. If all can stay eligible, the LU room will be a fierce place to train for the next 4-5 years. We need a couple of NCAA champs in order to really plant our flag.

Re: Re-Cap of recruits
Sean Kilrain, Blair - 174?
And I predict that confusion between JT and TJ will be the greatest source of error since the spelling of "Wessell".

Re: Re-Cap of recruits
A couple weeks ago, I was at the chiropractors and noticed someone ahead of me being adjusted wearing a Lehigh wrestling sweatshirt. I went over to look at him and didn't recognize him. The father said he was an Emmaus teammate of Caden Wright. So I asked if he stole the shirt. They said he "won" it from Caden. I asked if that meant we wanted this kid instead!
Re: Re-Cap of recruits
Just a few additions
Steven Storm 141
Sean Kilrain 165/174 (likely the latter)
Karam Charif 285
and a few adjustments
Connor Herceg 165/174
Caden Wright 184/197
There are 13 total recruits and I believe they cover virtually every weight class

Re: Re-Cap of recruits
I believe the correct way is: It's WESSELL!
Re: Re-Cap of recruits
From Mookie – “If we ever get back to "normal" I do like the state of Lehigh's program. Nice incoming class combined with a solid core will make for a very competitive team. Most pressing need is 197, 285 for when Jake and Jordan graduate.”
I agree with several posters that with the current freshmen who redshirted and the incoming class, we should have a very competitive team, especially in the lower weights through 174. I also agree with Mookie (well, sometimes he’s spot on when not trying to get a rouse out of people!) and have been wondering about the situation at our upper weights for a couple of months (and letting it stew while all the other crazy things are going on). We have one more year with Weiler, Jake, and Wood. Our other current team members at those 3 upper weights will have to develop fast - knowing our coaches always do great with what they have - can they?
Current Roster
• Ammerman (184/197) - has another year of eligibility if not graduating this year.
• Jones (197) and Shedleski (184/97) - solid, good placements in PA high school, but not top tier.
• Grape (likely 197) - could be very good, had some good moments this year, but only has one season after Jake graduates.
• McDonald (197/285) - has another year of eligibility if not graduating this year.
• Lacombe (285) – started wrestling as HS freshman, but seems to be coming on, had pretty good results in tournaments this season. One year after Wood graduates.
• Houden (285) - current redshirt, but did not wrestle this year due to injuries (I think). 4-time finalist, 1-time champion in WV, and finalist at Fargo, but not a top 20 at the weight.
Incoming class upper weights
• Wright- 182 8th PIAA
• Davis 182 - 1st DE, seemed small and got thrown around at Ironman(?), but good at other times
• Moore - 220 7th PIAA
• Charif - 285 dnp PIAA
Pretty much all the top 10-15 at 195-285 who are juniors or seniors are committed. A few sophomores, such as Rogers (Blair) - 182, Feldman (Malvern Prep) – 195, Franklin (Sem), Pettigrew (Blair), Schon (Selingrove) – 220; maybe juniors Deery (Malvern Prep) or Vance (Hempfield) at 285. I took this off of Flo a few weeks ago, which isn’t always up to date on commitments.
Thoughts?
