Anyone in the know about Cornell know if Greg Diakamohalis will grey shirt at FLWC or come right in and compete?

Lajoie was coming along nicely toward the end of the year and gave Paetzell a close bout. If he's the starter then given normal underclassman improvement, it might be wise to rate his future bout with Paetzell as close, leaning Lehigh.

Other than that, based on projected line-ups, including now the loss of Weiler, makes CU the prohibitive favorite. 6-4 split, maybe 5-5 best case if someone steps up. CU favored at 133, 141, 165, 174, 184, 197. LU favored at 125, 157 and 285. Toss-up at 149.

I am certainly not in the know, but have read that he's going to go to the Finger Lakes Club for a year.

I think with both Cornell and Lehigh we're going to have to wait awhile to see what lineups look like. No doubt that Greg D. will be a good one, but the Cornell fans on The Mat forum insist that Arujau will be back and at 125. Doesn't seem to leave much room for LaJoie (whose brother is also on the way in), Greg D., or anyone else. Cornell has a lot of talent after four out of five strong recruiting years, but how it all fits into the lineup is the question.

The general information I have received/heard is that Greg D will definitely be at Finger Lakes next year....but that was before all this started so at this point who knows?

A matter of semantics, but the draw isn’t the Ivy education, but the Ivy degree.

It's also a matter of how high a talent will be content to go to the Binghamton and Cornell Opens and his classes while he could have been starting at any number of other schools. We're not talking about pretty good recruits, there are Top 100s in that situation.

But could it be that these kids were big stars in high school and think they can - later if not sooner - beat the competition and become the Cornell starters?

EX: Where does Jonathan Loew fit now that Max Dean is back? Add in who they recruited and he could be the odd man out -- and he's very good with nice upside as he matures.

Loew's one of the guys I was thinking about. He has three years of eligibility remaining, just like Jonathon Fagen. Loew is 6' 3" according to Cornell's roster, so he's not moving down to 174 (occupied by Foca, Reiniche, Berreyesa, with Gage McClenahan probably headed for FLRTC). Dean has two years remaining. Darmstadt has two years remaining. Cardenas (IM #12) has four years remaining. Ethan Hatcher (IM #44, a 220-pounder projected at 197 in college) is probably headed for FLRTC.

Cornell's depth isn't great at the upper weights, so Loew will probably be the first guy up at 184 and the second guy up at 197 in the event of illness or injury.
