Good point. And the corollary stat: # of Ivy A/A medals the last 28 yrs: 130

In the category of tit-for-tat, Jack Spates helped ignite the Big Red by opening some floodgates; which helped Penn money help Rajah open them even more. Cornell took one look at the Quaker and caused flooding, period. What was amazing was that it took Koll 14 yrs to win his first EIWA team title.

Adding the emergence of Ohio St, Missouri, Va Tech and (for top students) Stanford -- and the explosive rise of PSU -- it's pretty apparent that the days of Leeman-Turner dominance are bygone days. We do very well to remain 1 of the top 11-12 programs in 7-8 statistical categories which are published 2x/year in LUWrestlingNews. Kudos to Pat for that.

Stop Penn? The team that had the following results at EIWAs?

125: #3 seed, DNP
131: NS
141: #2 seed, placed 4th
149: Unseeded, placed 8th
157: Unseeded, DNP
165: Unseeded, DNP
174: Unseeded, placed 7th
184: Unseeded, DNP
197: #7 seed, placed 7th
285: #6 seed, placed 5th

And who went 0-6 vs. Lehigh, Cornell, and Princeton?

131 NS... (No See, for an imaginary wt cl?) Sure...

... however, @133, #7 seed, placed 6th for Mr. Ferrante, that's a horse of a different color. (Of course! ;) )

They have one of if not the best RTC groups going with Coach Slay. They advertise to eligible HS kids, provide a published consistent training schedule, elite HS kids are driving hrs to attend. They also offer a RTC practice every weekend & free special weekend clinics for eligible HS athletes. It’s no coincidence their recruiting has picked up.

nothingmeaningful lives up to his name. Maybe he'd like to summarize UP EIWA results from 1980-1990.

Now there's a meaningful contribution.

Do tell how Penn's recruiting have made them competitive in the EIWA. With teams other than American, of course.

I'm not sure why you find his posts to be so frustrating. Quality conversation doesn't always have to agree with one's opinion.

I find that most of his posts ask questions that he could easily answer himself if he took the time to look up the answers. Instead, he anonymously posts on this site and expects us to waste our time. When he contributes something to the conversation, let me know. Until then, he's just another troll.

Not so fast.....
NothingMeaningful, aside from a full disclosure handle, is asking a legit question. UPenn *has* recruited well as of late with little to show for it; Artalona in 2019 being the exception. It takes time, sure, but Reina 2.0 hasn't been easy. NothingMeaningful is just a Cornell fan which in and of itself is not a hanging offense.

The purpose of this board is not to have a bunch of guys who "go look it up" it's also about opinions and questions. Sometimes it feels like everyone thinks they're THE expert when in fact there are only a very few of us. :D
