I didn't see any of the matches, but I'm guessing it would have been about 4-1 odds that Gilman wouldn't have been an a-hole before, during, or after the match with Cruz.

Double negative on those Gilman odds (4-to-1 that he wouldn't ....)

But he was a total gentleman after he lost to Darian in the ncaa semis, the loss helping teach him respect for rivals

And it's Dominic Abounader, our longtime Wolverine rival

Wood hit a nice ankle lace from neutral for two exposures in the final 15 seconds to win the bout.

Darian had difficulty holding the mat v Gilman. At one point, I believe Gilman had 6 pushouts to Cruz’ two takedowns.

57 kg. is tough for Darian to be competitive.

I'm sure you are correct, and I should probably know the answer to this, but 57 kilos is essentially 125 lbs. Why is it tough for him to be competitive at this weight vs. 125 in college?

Thanks in advance.

Pushout rule forces engagement. Darian likes to hit and run. Also he gives up 10+ lbs. with 24 hr. weigh-in.

The other thing that's often missed is that a college 125-pounder has to hold that weight, making it repeatedly, for nearly five months. That means wrestling weight is a lot closer to true weight than for a freestyler who only makes weight a handful of times over the course of a year.
