Nathan Taylor

Post by jdalu75 » Thu Jan 28, 2021 2:19 pm

Flowrestling's 2021 commit list for Lehigh includes Nathan Taylor of Brookville HS in PA. Brookville wrestles in the AA class. Taylor was 4th at 220 last year, 69-24 for his career, 13-1 at 285 this year with his only loss by a 3-1 score to Isaiah Vance (Flo #44 recruit), 126-17, 4th and 2nd at AAA states.

I haven't seen this confirmed anywhere else, but it's on Flo.

Looks tall. Moves pretty well.

Probably needs more horsepower to compete on the Div I level (I might as well beat everyone to it!).

Which could mean it's a tackle. Some of the guys that do both that hit doubles learned the double first and some tackling came first.

If FloWrestling is the source...assume wrestling.

He was 1 of only 5 guys to go the distance with Gaige Garcia last year...so there's that.

Here's Isaiah Vance's record so far this year.

WBF 0:20
WBF 0:32
WBF 1:16
WBF 0:29
W 3-0 (vs McChesney, AAA state 7th)
WBF 0:27
WBF 0:34
WBF 0:39
W 3-1 (vs Taylor, AA state 4th)
WBF 0:06
WBF 2:21 (ooh, made it to the second period)
WBF 0:16
W Forfeit
WBF 0:16
W Forfeit

Don't know what happened before the pins, but it's probable that Taylor is the only guy to score a point on Vance so far.

I'm not sure if that is a testimonial to Vance or if it speaks volumes to the state of wrestling this year. If you look at Taylor's results, they are nearly identical to Vance except for that 3-1 decision. He only has one other match that went more than 1 period (a decision over PA AAA 8th). Every other match was a quick pin.

Combined with the Rodriguez results, it looks like a whole lot of haves and have nots plus a bunch of forfeits.
