No way to spin it

Post by Oracle » Tue Feb 09, 2021 3:25 pm

About all we can say is: there is a season of sorts going on. The lack of the Ivy League, especially Cornell with their 3-4 super-stars and the consistent interruption of 'team activities' has turned 2021 into a hot mess. The fact the NCAA says the "year doesn't count" is all that needs be said. 2020 ended poorly 6 days before the NCAAs, now 2021 is limping along with the only real positive being the reduction in the number of competitions....which will translate into less injuries. Sadly, there is no solution in sight. Until we can collectively agree to 'live normally' again, college wrestling - like everything else in life - will continue to struggle to survive.

Pat Santoro knows how to coach a team, but not even he can navigate this insanity. I hope I'm wrong. On we go.

There is always the Kool-Aide option or Nuclear option and just end humanity. Of course, the sane will move on, the insane will put on the 3rd mask.
Ask any material science engineer to describe how a 5 micron virus passes through a mask woven with 15-25 micron gaps. On we go.

Ask any virologist how many virus particles are floating free in the air within your body as opposed to attached to moisture particles or mucous or whatever. Those get trapped.
The insane won't put on the first mask.

31 wrestled for a combined 50-70 record. 6 had winning seasons.

The Mars rover Perserverence just landed and sent back photos within minutes (at 3:55pm). Pretty damned great engineering. And in the control room, all those engineers are wearing two masks. Amazing that they are all smart enough to land a rover on the surface of Mars after 300,000,000 miles, but are not sane enough to realize that two masks don't do anything.

(for those who haven't been paying attention: the inner mask is an N95 that filters 95% of .3 micron particles; the outer mask is a cloth mask that serves to hold the N95 in place as securely as possible)

Several engineers, maybe not in that room, attempted to sterilize the device. I suspect they all wore at least an N95. But obviously that did not work. It is sad to think that we land on Mars in 2033, we will discover that their was indeed life, advanced complex intelligent, but not technological, life. But like the Martian life HG Wells described they succumbed to Earthican germs.

It’s not just you.... i get it but I honestly wish i didn’t...

You spend enough time on here you realize very few posters want to discuss wrestling, mostly they are just looking for an opportunity to “turn a phrase”, make a snarky comment about someones name or figure out a way to compare the post to something that happened in their days of yore..

Nothing wrong with that, but if you are on here to discuss current wrestling..... well.....
