Expect Lehigh will win EIWA next year, but NCAA will be once again tough. LEHIGH not what it once was.

No All Americans again next year. The incoming freshmen will not be NCAA ready. Lehigh has lots of gaps to be filled hopefully by Transfer Portal at 149, 165, 174, 197. Since Hughes left, the decline of the middleweights is evident. Darian is doing great with lightweights. Zach had developed Vollaro/Wood to be competitive, but both lack the natural athleticism to be elite big men. Getting some good training athletes to LVWC from 65kg to 86kg would be quite beneficial.

Do not "expect" Lehigh to win EIWA next year..... Unless Cornell and the Ivies are still too woke to wrestle next year......

Since Cornell is requiring vaccination, likely most of their team will be hospitalized or worse come March 2022???????

You mean transferring out?
At least, if they do stay and get vaccinated we'll be able to track their whereabouts.

I was thinking more of the "opinion" demonstrated here that the vaccine has a high fatality rate.

But, yeah, maybe the REDS from other states will transfer out.

>>>>>>> With all due respect, John Hughes isn't the reason for any perceived decline. Your conclusions are all ridiculous. First of all, Cornell returns a boatload -- winning the Easterns will be very difficult. Wood = "competitive"? NCAA semi-finalist. Your doom and gloom vision is not shared by most supporters. Wear a black arm band so we can avoid sitting next to you at meets.

>>> Clearly you're fine with finishing in the 15 to 20 range and having the random 7th or 8th place finisher.

...Clearly he's more realistic than some fans. It's a whole new world out there, when you add relative newbies NC State, Va Tech, Cornell, Missouri and Ariz St to the Old World mix of PSU, OhioSt, Iowa, OklaSt -- and former Old World Iowa State paying $330k/year for a head coach to get back where they belong

...Like it or not, I'd kill to place 7th again.

.....Unless the Ivies cancel again -- or a slew of Big Red follow Max into the portal -- CU will win Easterns for the 1st time in 5 yrs. I can live with that - for now.
.....Good choice of "once" -- if you insist on focusing only on our former Top 10 teams (about 30% of our past) then maybe we're not what we once were.
.....Per another post, it's pointless to compare the present teams to 1955-1985 because you'll just be hitting your face against a brick wall; like UNI alumni remembering post WW II and Oklahoma alumni lucky to be old enough to remember when they were really good.
