Gaige Garcia
Re: Gaige Garcia
Great news !! It seemed to be a nice fit when he announced to the transfer portal last month.
He was listed at 197# at Michigan. That makes him an ideal fit for wrestling.
In football, our running back situation is suddenly loaded.
Welcome aboard Gaige!!

Which way will he "lean?"
So... we're not yet sure if he'll lean towards the mat, or the gridiron?
Does he want to do both?

Re: Gaige Garcia
All right, all right... I figured I'll get this out of the way (before someone else beat's me to it. )
It sounds like Gaige, gaged himself correctly, into transferring to LEHIGH.
Now, we'll see if he will engage towards wrestling, football, OR BOTH.

Re: Gaige Garcia
Based on his twitter feed, I believe both at least initially.
His announcement shows him in both a Lehigh singlet and a Lehigh football uniform.
His wrestling accomplishments per Michigan
Wrestling
• Helped the team win states as a junior and won two individual state titles
• Has a 163-6 career record in wrestling; posted 68 falls and eight major decisions with 103 career pins
• Won the AA state title as he posted a 47-0 record with 34 falls as a junior
• Compiled a 45-3 record as a sophomore and place third at the state championship
• Went 22-3 during his freshman season and finished fifth at states
• Three-time sectional, district and regional champion

Father is the Mike Garcia that wrestled for Buck U mid 90s.

Side note:
Younger brother Gavin '22 is an accomplished wrestler too at 172#. He currently holds a football offer from Lehigh.

Re: Gaige Garcia
Happy to read this! Brightens things up considerably.
Re: Gaige Garcia
And that's really true. Unlike the Anderson post by mookie.
Gaige has three younger brothers, too.

Re: Gaige Garcia
Garcia was #20 on Intermat's 2020 recruiting list, #22 on Flo's. He was Michigan's top recruit by those measures.
