Rutgers has a very solid program. Anyone thinking otherwise is not paying attention.

Rutgers definitely needs to get back on our schedule on a home & home basis. Don’t understand the issue as a great rivalry opportunity is being wasted.

>>>I concur with the "sick and tired" of the "Jersey Tough" guy machismo. It's based on a sense of inferiority about living in NJ with it's poor reputation. They deliberately go out of their way to invent the mafioso persona thinking it embellishes their brand. I grew up in NJ and played FB at Lehigh. Most of the NJ kids exhibited that same nonsense. Really childish when middle aged adults don't / can't grow out of it too.

NNJ was my home area from 1958 until my parents moved to Bethlehem in '77, when back to NJ (Lakewood) from 1990 until passing in 2002 and 2013. After several decades in Bethlehem, I've been in SNJ most of the last 15 yrs. Have lived in rich areas and poor but I honestly never felt nor experienced any of your your own. Sorry to hear of it.
Since Scott Goodale has personally urged me (as if I have a vote) to get us back together on the schedule, I'll comment - but I'm not inclined to ask Pat. Scheduling has been a nightmare for years, with the two highest priorities to land elite rivals (with the most top wrestlers to prepare for NCAAs), as well as growing pressure to book EIWA rivals. Far more schools are left off, than get on (duh)

Makes no sense to me. Is one more or less bout against an elite wrestler going to make such a significant difference in an LU wrestler's performance at the Nationals that it's worth passing up a great dual meet among pretty evenly matched local teams?

Rutgers has several elite wrestlers in their line-up, so it's not like scheduling them doesn't prepare LU for NCAAs. And with Maryland rising(see their recruiting) they were always a regular rival as well. More so than American.

I would love to see an annual match with Rutgers. That could grow into a real great rivalry - one almost as good as the Cornell one.

The history of wrestling Rutgers alone should make it a priority but also the location offers great fan turnout either at the RAC or Stabler. Rutgers & Penn State need to be regular Big 10 opponents as the highest priority out of conference opponents.

Everyone else works around those 2 matches from a fan perspective. I don’t get it if Goodale wants it why can’t he & Pat just figure this out???

Rutgers IS getting the bulk of the Jersey recruits that may have gone to LU. Wrestling them would give NJ wrestlers a chance to compare programs, demeanor, styles, etc. Both coaches are class acts IMO.

Very difficult to fit in B1G teams outside of their league schedule any more.

Yet somehow they've fit in duals with American, Army, Princeton and Columbia.
